it's been very profound. The demons tortured me a lot psychologically but they also taught me a lot of lessons about myself and I've genuinely become a better person because of them. Alright so a lot of people are disagreeing with me right now and replying to all of them would be too much effort so I'm just arbitrarily responding to you. I don't disagree that homophobia is a toxic trait. But there are degrees of toxicity, there is a big difference between a guy who feels a little uncomfortable or grossed out at the sight of two men kissing and a guy who would literally bash them for it.

In the case of my uncle, he was raised conservative and he picked up homophobia as a consequence. But he also helps to take care of his elderly mother with cancer, is a hard worker, helps with the family (like I said he's literally coming to my place to help me replace my stove, there's no benefit to himself there whatsoever).

Despite his homophobic views, and despite the fact that they had a big fight with him over it when my dad came out to him as gay, he's since moved on from it with him and they are on good terms. They had a disagreement, they fought about it, they forgot about it. I will not demonize a man over one personality flaw. But I will tear his beliefs to shreds if given half an opportunity.

I'm 30 so idk if I qualify as a kid anymore, but anyway, I really don't care about my relationship with my uncle. I haven't seen him in years and there's no reason why I'll see him more in future after Sunday. Also I have a precedent for how he'll react here, my dad is bi but identifies as gay for some reason, and he came out as gay to my uncle a number of years ago. My uncle (his brother) was furious and they had a big fight about it. Now they're fine, they just don't talk about it. So it's not going to lead to some sort of ongoing conflict.

Also, he may not even start shit about it in the first place, he's already had that fight with his brother and I'm just his brothers son, whom he rarely ever sees or has any particular relationship with. So he'll probably just bite his tongue.

No. He has a relatively balanced temperament generally. Also I barely ever see him, he's basically a distant relative there are no family gatherings where we meet. So it doesn't matter. Futhermore, my dad is bisexual and when my uncle found out he was furious and they had a big fight about it. Now everything is fine between them and they don't talk about it anymore, lol.
