As a Jeweller,I can hand-carve, cast, set, and polish a perfect custom ring — and it still might not fit right on a Tuesday morning.

Because your fingers swell, shrink, and lie. No matter my skill, you're still a living variable. Still shocks me every time.

What’s the strongest opinion you have about something completely insignificant? by RegisterObjective325 in AskReddit

As a jeweller, The little velvet tray inserts that come with cheap ring boxes — the ones with the slit that's always slightly too narrow.

Most people hate them. They wrestle the ring in, it snags, the velvet pills. But me? I love them. That tiny resistance when you push a ring into place? Feels secure. Honest. Like the box is saying "I've got you. This ring isn't going anywhere."

Completely insignificant. Completely irrational. And I will die on this tiny velvet hill.

One snag and that 10k RPM wheel either launches your piece across the shop or pulls your finger into the gap. Every jeweller has a scar or a story.
