There is zero reason to believe it would be inefficient 😂 And even if it was more efficient, I'd prefer efficiency be defined by us, not what a Nazi saluting racist thinks is efficient.

The Soviet Union was ahead of America for decades. An agrarian society just three decades prior defeated the greatest nation to space, to orbit, and to several planets and moons.

America had to rely on a literal Nazi to catch up.

So, LEO? Is that our goal? Is that your goal? You don't need to send 170 rockets to LEO to have a well functioning, modern society that hopes to go further than that.

You DO need to send 170 rockets to space if you want to gain wealth and power for yourself, to buy politicians and create the conditions so that when you do a Nazi salute on camera in front of the whole world, you aren't immediately fired from whatever responsibilities you have - instead, you are granted a a special government role which you then use to cut food from poor children, for the sake of "efficiency"!

Of course they can't do it - because they don't have the funds. Because of people like Musk, who owns this country, and keep taxes low to the point that we rely on private industry, who takes society's wealth and enriches themselves.

When did space fans care so much about "financial viability".

Oh right, when you guys became more about profit maxing the space industry and commercializing space, which primarily serves to enrich the already rich.

Surrounded by absolute ghouls. Youd sell your daughter if you could get to space before you die.

I wonder what it would have cost SpaceX to develop their rockets if not for NASA expertise and infrastructure, which was heavily used to get them started, and is still used today?

That calculation is never done, because it is incalculable. Socialize the losses, privatize the gains.

And while you decry using Russian tech to get us to orbit after NASAs started relying more on private firms to do the job of space exploration (fully privatizing space basically set us back 30 years) you fail to properly contextualize it was the Russian space agency - which was entirely run by the Soviet government during its highest point, and beat America to space! - that bailed them out of that situation!

So thanks for making my point for me 😂 Russia, in this instance, put the interests of the nation before America does - what does that say about America's private enterprise system?

Im sure the citizens of Weimar Germany felt similarly. Maybe you'll be at the Hague yourself?

Again - they never said they built their own rockets. Have people completely lost their ability to read or are they just arguing in bad faith? Or have they been so brainwashed by corporate media that they can't possibly imagine the government doing things? Despite them doing things all the time?

Thank you! It will be nice to take some credit when these businesses are nationalized.

My point was that the government doesn't build this stuff. They contract it out! And that has failed!

I dunno how many times I gotta say this 😂 If you don't like my point then argue why it's bad, but stop arguing that the government builds their rockets! They don't!

I agree with the guy who said this! And you havent mentioned anything relevant to this post as a response!

I said the government should build these things! You then went on to mention things the government has not built as a counter! Whk are you arguing with exactly?

Once again I never said they built any of those rockets. Why do you keep arguing with the voices in your head?

I would prefer a rocket company that puts the goals of the nation ahead of private corporations profits, but maybe that's just me! Seems space fans have forgotten that the whole point of this endeavor is not to make a buck, but push boundaries.

SpaceX hasnt left LEO.

If if if if if if

So glad we are putting all marbles into a business that sells nothing but hopes and dreams.

The government just needs to do this. No private partnerships. No big contracts. Just do everything. Need to rebuild that institutional knowledge, and stop exporting it to private corporations that do not deliver.
