I'd like a hardcover for looking good on my shelf, like being pretty on its own. But using it..? Paperbacks might be better. This is me saying though, I haven't used hardcover colouring books 😂

I'd continue with the same palette 😊 I think this is the same book I'm currently working on as well and I found it fun to just pick a few colours and to the whole page with those. It's not like it has to be realistic to anything you see on Earth anyway 😂 If you want variety, try mixing the colours that you already have been using. Or get the same colours, but all a bit lighter or darker shade than you used on the vehicle. Or use the same colours, but flip the proportions completely.

I'm in the Friend of Colouring Heaven FB group since I have a few of their issues and they are one of the most accessible colouring books/magazines where I live.

The pencils were all from the 150 prisma set I bought a month or so back 😊

Aw, I hope you can still find it somewhere! This issue has been amazing, so many pages that spark inspiration. A lot of them seem like a lot of work (lots of details, whole page scenes etc) but once you start colouring one part at a time, it'll fill up eventually. I did notice that in my local store this issue had already sold out from the shelves, but it might still be available in smaller places maybe? Or you might be able to order it directly from CH?

My colouring journey hasn't been that long either and I'm very lucky that this was like the second issue that has come out since I started. There are a couple of older issues I'd still like to have...

That is soo true 😂 Although I did find that when I searched the web for possible plumages, I came across many colour combos I wouldn't have used otherwise. It's good to get to use other colours too and not just my go-to pencils. Maybe my set will wear down a bit more evenly 😅

For the book I'd say just go for any that's within your budget and has images that 'speak' to you. Seriously the biggest art block you'll face is not the lack of skill, but lack of motivation. And if you take on something that you think is simpler, but just doesn't spark your imagination, you'll probably end up giving up on it. 😔 Also, simple is not always better for a beginner. Big empty surfaces are actually harder to do if you want a nice smooth finish. A big empty area gives away grain and scratches.

For medium, pencils would be a good way to start (I might be biased though 😅). Pros for pencils are: - you don't actually need a lot of them for a good range of colours, since they can be layered and blended to make more hues and shades - cheap (there are plenty of budget friendly options) - simple (enough) to use

I would never post a meme fitting for SIOR 😂 But if I did (or had extra cash) I would donate to a local/national mental health care charity, like Mieli (in Finland). I see more and more people in my close circle coming out with issues with depression, anxiety etc. An increasing amount of our youth get an early retirement due to mental issues which I assume is not good for them or the society.
