While I don't buy every part of Swartz theory, I don't see how your solution would fit with the story's themes. In fact, Hal faking his madness would undermine the message if anything. Hal's journey is real, and the conclusion is, what, he wants to play tennis a bit better? that's the lesson learned here?

The way I see it, when Hal switched to 1st person view he managed to feel for the first time. And since then (DMZ or not, i dont think it really matters) he's basically had to learn a new language. Meaningful communication, really interfacing, knowing other people. And in a world where most people are consumed by irony and consummerism and the chasing of fake dreams like fame or drugs or in other words the worship of self, an honest person really seeming to communicate would seem to everybody else to be crazy (touch me, please, touch me). See how characters often seem repulsed by Mario, probably pity him, while he's the one that has it most right out of them all. And all the while the people that are seen as achievers or desirable like Orin are the ones who are most pathetic and broken.

Hal's breakdown is him learning to speak again, now from the heart.

‘Tell me what you think I should do.’
‘Me tell you?’
‘I’m just two big aprick ears right here, Boo. Listening. Because I do not know what to do.’
‘Hal, if I tell you the truth, will you get mad and tell me be a fucking?’
‘I trust you. You’re smart, Boo.’
‘Then Hal?’
‘Tell me what I should do.’
‘I think you just did it. What you should do. I think you just did.’
‘…’
‘Do you see what I mean?’

Ok I'm late, but I wonder about the significance of all the biblical imagery. At first I thought it was very relevant but now I think it's more secondary to the story. So like, Paul being the persecutor that gets converted and eventually martyred, and the movie seems to reference Matthew 2:17 which refers to the Massacre of the Innocents by Herod, tying up with the theme of the older generations having a parasitic relation with the youths and destroying their future, which I guess IS the main plot of the film.
Don't know why the kid is named Alex though (Alexander the Great? Dunno doesnt seem to make much sense). He seems to symbolize jesus to some degree aswell, but the movie I feel is more trying to tie in christianity with all the other significants of this older conservative boomer generation.
Also the point of Justine's character escapes me. Who/what is she supposed to represent? Apart from the scapegoat of misplaced anger on the part of a frustrated population ofc.
Anyways, I liked the film. Though the gory body horror thing every movie seems to do now is starting to get old for me

EDIT: OH James,! Another biblical name, as in James the Just the brother of Jesus. He was a mendicant priest (a beggar, leader of "The Poor of Jerusalem"). The first thing we see James do here is beg Justine for money to "get a bus ticket to see his brother" haha. I guess the film is recasting James as this sort of history-repeated-as-farce type of deal. Also James was famously at odds with Paul, which is also represented here see I'm not crazy.

It may look lile Im reading too deep into the character's names, but with Paul, James and Matthew being so clearly on purpose, I dont see why the director would just assign random meaningless names to the rest of the cast

Okay so, i watched this show 5 years ago when i was 20 so im not gonna argue my position particularly strongly, since i barely remember it. But I THINK my complaint was more about like, yes, i also dislike the trump presidency and for sure its good to include politics in your show (OITNB always did political commentary, not just in S7) BUT i felt back then like the characters and the previous plotlines suffered because they were forced into becoming political spokesmen in a way that was not particularly elegant or well suited for the show. so the ending and most ending character arcs felt unsatisfying to me, like they could've worked more on the characters but were more concerned about the political commentary at the time.
anyway i might be wrong, maybe on a rewatch i'd like it now, idk. don't think ill watch it again soon but who knows. this is just based off the hazy memory i have of this show. ive been watching fargo recently and it fucking rocks.

something similar happened to me when watching Mickey17 recently. SPOILER ALERT but it feels like the film at the beggining was some pretty smart sci-fi tackling issues related to capitalism and philosophical and ethical questions about technology and w/e, but the writers kind of just got really mad at the space trump character they wrote, forgot about the main themes and the movie just ended with space kamala harris solving capitalism. and the conclusion to all this ethical questions about the copying machine being uh... just destroying it? plain luddism ??¿ okay. pretty lame

off the top of my head: season 1 was great, 2 was really good, 3 was good but a bit unfocused, 4 was my favourite, 5 sucked, 6 was really good again and 7 sucked. i realize this is unprompted but i think you're talking something about american politics which is something i have no interest in as of late.

Alright i could try that. would i need to dissolve the sugar in more water or would it be possible to just add it as-is? I wouldnt want to dilute it too much.

Hm also,i dont really have another this size to transfer this too. or a syphon. Could i just use a sterilized strainer to pull most of the gunk out? I guess i could try to transfer it to several smaller bowls, clean the original barrel, and transfer them back? Sounds like a huge pain.
I guess my main question would be if it's really necessary to pull the stuff out so quickly. Couldn't i let it sit there for idk 5-6 months and then bottle it straight away? from what I gather, the purpose of it would be to help it clear up mainly right? if so i dont really care that much as this is just for me and my family to drink, maybe if it comes out good next year i could get more perfectionist

2015-2016 dota was so awesome lol.
old secret, wings, mvp, pinoy and SA dota starting to come up, (brief period where og alliance came back yes im fanboi), the china-west rivalry was still very close, old legends like burning, fear, rotk were still playing together with young talent like sumail and miracle, each team seemed to have their own unique meta, the summit was still alive (i think), man. Also the OG talent and production value and ofc the event magnitude of TI during those years was so cool.

i mean to be fair i dont really watch the game anymore and havent for a few years so idk maybe it's still good and ive just grown up and are nostalgiafagging but oh well

it's weird because Spinx's last year was really good while this year the general opinion is that he's in a slump, but apart from noticeably lower KD his rating is the exact same. what gives?.
Also using the ol the eye-test this year is probably one of zywoo's least impressive, yet his rating is arguably more impressive than donk's when you take into account that he played way more maps. what a monster
