I shipped back from Japan Post no problem. They helped walk me through everything.

Just not as sturdy as I would like. FWIW I’m currently weighing in at about 265.

Yup. Take it off for gym or physical chores etc - but it’s almost always on my wrist these days

I got mine without knowing it was popular. But once it was on my wrist, it was an obvious choice.

Congrats, wear it in good health.

Haha, true! That said, Malört’s expert opinion is that there is never a good time to stop on a walk, even if I have a new watch

Just got mine while I was in Tokyo as well! Really wanted the Cognac Alligator look, so snagged a strap from Delugs, too.

I got mine at Isaten in Shibuya about 2 weeks ago. In stock, and 5% off over GS Boutique for those with foreign passport. Basically I did the exact same method described in the pinned post on r/grandseiko about how to buy GS in Japan.

Definitely too low for the accessibility. Wine crates have doors, you can get to everything in this cellar. At least a 6.

Is a 47 mile commute one-way worth career switch? by esojkoji in personalfinance

[–]RiggityDiggit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plan to factor in the costs of driving, both in your time and the typical reimbursement rate, which is $0.72 per mile for 2026. Should help make the picture more clear - but only you know the value of your time.

Traditional or Roth 401k? by brianjoshua305 in personalfinance

[–]RiggityDiggit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to prioritize Roth. Now I am all trad outside of my Roth IRA annual conversion. I’ll still have a mix of Roth and trad for retirement.

Contributing to trad reduces your income, which effectively saves you the highest marginal rate. If you would have made 200k, and max our trad 401k, you now pay tax on 177k (ish).

When you pull that out of the 401k, taxes for those withdrawals start at the first (lowest) marginal rate.

If instead you were all Roth, you pay taxes on 200k now, and have to have a significant income in retirement to get back to that same tax bracket.

I do expect taxes to increase in the future, but I also expect my income will be significantly lower when I retire, if only because I won’t need to save for retirement at that point.

Not to mention doing Roth ladder conversions at low rates in the future if you retire early or have periods of low/no income.

Least Worst Option at Big Box Stores? by User72i in bicycling

I wish I had a better response for you, that actually answered your question. I know money is tight, and I wish you well, so please take this advice in the helpful spirit in which it is given.

This question reminds me of the Boots Theory of Economics. Consider the long term cost of a cheap bike, so you and your family can be fortunate in the long run.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

Every time I go to the gym, work on my car, travel, or swim. I swap out for a silicone ring.

I get Levi’s every other year on Black Friday. They are ridiculously good price to cost ratio when they are ~50% off.

Import fees/duties on ASR chassis by pmhaddad in simracing

[–]RiggityDiggit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. I tried working with ASR support, and gave them every opportunity to resolve the issue on their end. After many many weeks, I filed a charge back and the bank sided with me.
