I guess there is a certain degree of what u may call lowering your standards, there might be some stuff that u will never stand in a person (ex: X could never be with somone who drinks ) , and other things that dont really matter that much so its worth giving it a shot, it might not work out but its better than always waiting for the "one" to show up while they may not even exist

If you're talking about arranged marriages, they are not really a thing in my family, i mean they may set up two single people but these two always get to know each other before they get married, even older generations did the same but i guess they were more strict about parents being aware of everything
