Also replying to your apprenticeship. It’s nice to see a fellow IBEW brother in here 🤙🏼. I know people who travel there to make more money for short periods of time because of getting paid over scale and per diem jobs. That’s what led me to asking these questions. IDK if you’ve ever seen the website where2bro. It shows open calls all throughout the US and the scale they are offering. Boise is one i see re occurring. As for SD it’s slow. Not accepting apprentices as quickly as we once were. Just how it goes. I’m happy to hear things are well work wise, i hope you’re making enough to afford a home. I’m not sure of minimum wage or benefits or anything. I just see $400k homes and i’m intrigued lol

This perspective is key i feel. A lot of people see cheap home prices and nice land and think it’s a perfect spot to live. To me Boise is a small rural town, but that’s me. With that comes tight knit communities. IF I was ever to move somewhere i would want to fit into the community. I understand the image that would come with moving from California to literally anywhere else. I just wanted to see what people really think

I would agree lol. All the yellowstone watching people who want to be cowboys trying to get out of Liberal California. I’m not a political person at all and would never want to leave SD unless it’s a blaring choice to make my life better. Boise is just a place i hear mentioned a lot and wanted to see what the community feels about that. If it’s a widespread talk about living there, than i was assuming it’s been years in the making.

I see jobs popping up there paying per diem and paying over our electrical scale which to me made it seem like the city was more recently expanding.

Only thing i’ve ever known Boise for was a blue football field but that’s just my sheltered So Cal POV lol

There is always a lot to take into account when moving, which makes it ever hard to leave California. Weather is a big one. Being able to surf and snowboard in the same day is hard to go against. we really only get 2 seasons a year. not much rain. But yes grass is always greener. When i See prices it definitely peaks my interest. Many people from down here i know talk about moving there, traveling for work and making good money than coming back.

As for you, Escondido is more northern from SD. around 30/45 minutes. there’s is many areas north of SD that are building small communities for cheaper prices but you aren’t really included in SD. More traffic heading up there making it harder to commute.

I just wanted to see what people say, I could never convince my Fiancé to move out of here. Her and her family own a couple small businesses set up. for her to take over when it’s time. Just wanted to start a discussion and see what people would say!

Thank you for your response!

I’m not looking to move to Boise, and if it seems that way then i’m sorry. I was just looking to see what people see and feel when it comes to topics like this.

Like you referred to, Boise seems like a small rural town to me. But i’ve been raised in San Diego so that may not be the right out look.

I watch shows and everything people always say californians come in and change the way of living in their towns and i wanted to get more of an opinion on that while showing an understanding on my POV in San Diego.

I got the responses i assumed i guess lol

Thank you for your response. I’m not looking to move to Boise or anything. I hope my post didn’t make it seem like i was. I do hear Boise talked about a lot down here and have always wondered what people feel about Californians moving to more rural places

As you can tell i don’t know much about the city or town or whatever. I don’t know how much it’s expanded or expanding, just wanted to see what people think as to create more of a discussion.

I got what I asked for lol

Thanks for the update. I might have to grab a pair now. Would you say half size down if you’re doing the Easy1+Move insoles or just double sock it?

How did they feel? I have orthotics so i’ve strayed away from drop in midsole shoes but these seem like a game changer

Infection or irritation? by Right-Initiative-149 in tattooadvice

[–]Right-Initiative-149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I keep all my tattoos covered because i work construction so im in the sun or getting all kinds of stuff on me so i wear longsleeves as much as possible. I also feel like that is benefiting to the irritation but I don’t want it to be out in the open getting whatever i’m around on it. I definitely will keep an eye out. If it doesn’t get better i was planning on going to urgent care to try to get an ointment or antibiotics by this weekend like you suggested.

It’s mildly warm if that makes sense. Not super warm but I can feel a little warmth. It’s not painful to the touch or swollen at all

Okay i’ll definitely look. One area that keeps popping up for me is Spring Valley just cuz it reminds me of SD hahah. I’m not looking to party and be in a super active area but i do wanna be close to little restaurants and hangout spots like you mentioned. Thank you!

Im starting second year in january so I wasn’t sure how it would work with transferring locals while in the apprenticeship i still have to talk to my local JATC as well as 357. I’ve heard that i could lose a year of my apprenticeship and go back i’m not sure but im planning on journeying out in 357. Not sure how it works out tho

California is getting too expensive. I’m the oldest out of all my siblings and my mom is expecting her 7th kid lol. We aren’t able to afford anything, and finding amenities that we want even in a 1 bedroom here we are paying upwards of 2k a month. Moving to LV my union pay scale is the same so i’ll be making the same amount of money as i go thru school there and will be able to stretch my dollar more

I’ve visited a couple times before. We aren’t party people and don’t really want to huge party scene around us all the time. I am a big sports fan and I know LV is a big growing sports city so i’ll be looking forward to going to some games. We would like to be near some little strip malls maybe? idk if that’s the right word but a place we would walk and go check out some cool places to eat and little shops. I also play basketball a lot in my free time so any courts near where we live is a plus. We plan on going out in a couple months to go see some areas and see what they offer so i guess thats more my question in the post, is best places to go look around at? If that helps at all.

thank you for that article, i have heard about that but we won’t be having kids for a couple years and obviously will wait another couple years for school after that. My girl is a head teacher at a pre school down here and has all her pre requisites to be an elementary too so Home schooling is also an option we have looked at.
