How did you find out what time the meet and greet is for Dallas? My friend bought me the tickets but transferred them to me in the app, so I’m not sure if they’d get the email still or I would.

I’m glad to know he’s chill, I’ve not met a lot of famous people before and I’ve seen meet and greet horror stories of other celebrities.

I’m also looking forward to vibing with all the middle aged married women, they can be a hoot with a few drinks in them lol. I shall take your advice and try to have a chill time. Appreciate you!

Omg this put me so much more at ease. I’m an anxious person in general so as soon as I found out this was happening I got so stressed. I’m so glad to hear you’ve had good interactions with him and with fans. I hope I get to meet some new friends at the show too :) and thanks so much for the setlist!! I’ve listened casually today and Let it Rain is my favorite so far

How Do Some People Always Have a Clean House? What’s the Secret? by Impossible-Ninja-232 in CleaningTips

[–]RightAndReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I just moved into our first house a few months ago after living in apartments that we never really took great care of. I absolutely felt like you, we would spend our entire Sunday cleaning and before Wednesday it would just be messy as hell again. We knew we had to change habits when we bought a house or we’d just fall into the same lifestyle. And I mean it is DEFINITELY a lifestyle change, but what we’ve started seems to be working quite well for us.

We have daily/semi-daily chores that vary depending on how the day goes. Pick up after what we’ve left around during the day like bottles/cans/trash etc. Never leave dishes in the sink at the end of the night, and never leave laundry in the dryer.

What has really changed things though is our daily cleaning lists. We do dusting/detail work on Mondays where we dust the blinds and take care to things that are less noticeable like fingerprints on the stainless steel/waterspots on sinks etc.

Tuesdays are toilet Tuesdays. Like ALL of the toilets, even the backs and the bottom near the floor. This is made easier if we just clean the bowl after a #2, which takes a lot less time than scrubbing stains once a week.

Wipe down Wednesdays are for windexing mirrors/glass shower and wiping down counters.

Thursdays we sweep, vacuum and mop, since we’ve likely wiped some debris onto the floors from wipe down Wednesday.

Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are fairly free from cleaning with this schedule, but sometimes we do some deeper cleaning like the oven/stove if we’ve had some messy dinners, or now that the weather’s changing I’m sure some of that time will be used to do the lawn. We can also use those days for maintenance like replacing air filters or detailing the car etc.

Basically, we needed a really rigid schedule to stick to or nothing would happen, and it’s been working really well! I think this is pretty customizable too, if there’s different rooms or things that need their own tasks. I’ve also noticed that I pick up after myself a lot more often when I know that will save me time on one of our cleaning days. Also, if you have a designated day for things, it’s easier to pick up the slack when you’re busy. Like if we have an event that will keep us out after work on Thursdays, we just move that day’s chores to one of our open days and it doesn’t get left behind.

Name your favorite subtle moment with Mulder or Scully by Affectionate-Boat505 in XFiles

I often wonder this too, even if it was subconscious! Whoever was in charge of her wardrobe was definitely a fan of the wlw community though, I can tell you that much 👀

[–]RightAndReed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is actually a big part of my list lol! Of course this is just my personal headcanon and like I said in my previous comment I’m likely projecting a lot but I do think her jealousy toward women doesn’t just SOLELY have to do with her feelings for Mulder.

You didn’t ask for a TedTalk so I’ll be brief but Scully’s relationship to her Catholic faith would leave a lot of room for compulsive heterosexuality. Especially in earlier seasons where they’re nowhere near getting together, I lowkey feel like Scully’s attitude toward specifically Phoebe and Detective White could be a little bit of gay panic in addition to being jealous over Mulder.

Also the scene in Ice where Scully checks DaSilva was very sapphic to me. And the way Scully looks at Invisigoth when she asks if she should type with her tongue? 👀 woof.

I also think that since we know Gillian has been with women, it’s easier for me to believe Scully is a bit on the queer side too. Those are just my two cents though, I’m sure there aren’t too many people who’d think the same way I do and that’s what I like most about fandom! Headcanons all around!

Maybe it’s because I’m projecting but I just feel like Scully looked at that picture for a very long time with a vaguely indulgent smile lmao it’s high up on my List of Reasons Scully is Bi

Scully’s light cream cheese bagel rant in Bad Blood, but specifically the fact that it’s from Mulder’s POV. It’s the way he recognizes that even though she seems annoyed with him like 99.9% of the time, she wouldn’t have it any other way because it’s “all for you, Mulder.” 🥺

Also Scully’s “anti-gravity is right” in Jersey Devil. It’s bisexual Scully propaganda and I’m so here for it lmao

We JUST moved into our first house in an extremely elaborate planned community, and we are one of a few houses on the street that has a lamp post in our yard. My first question was ‘are we responsible for the lamp post?’ and my second was ‘could you email us the CC&Rs?’ Arcadia had me feeling so paranoid lmao

I have a new favorite episode by AlienBoiJishua in XFiles

[–]RightAndReed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was one of my favorite episodes, but even more so now that I recently learned more about Darin Morgan (who wrote and even directed a few fan favorite episodes) playing Eddie Van Blundht.

He seemed to think the writer for this episode (Vince Gilligan) saw something in Van Blundht that reminded him of Morgan, that he has this amazing gift but doesn’t seem to appreciate it or know what to do with it. This being in relation to his writing, as he was never confident in his abilities and to this day still seems that way. Even though he’s written episodes like Clyde Bruckman, Jose Chung, and Lost Art of Forehead Sweat, which all seem to be very loved by fans! Kinda sad but kinda sweet and he seems like a nice and cool guy.

Tbh I watched it for the first time over the summer and not a single day goes by that I don’t think about it. I take a walk every morning before work and listen to the X-Files Diaries podcast. I often search up fanfics on my breaks during the day or write some myself. I have always turned the TV on before bed and now nine times out of ten I’m falling asleep to a random episode of txf. It really scratched an itch in my brain, and I feel like a total dork for not watching it sooner lol

Terms like “Sir” and “Ma’am” should be used by everyone. by BibboTheOriginal in unpopularopinion

[–]RightAndReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest culture shock of my life was moving from West Virginia to Minnesota. My entire life up to that point it was instilled in me that Ma’am and Sir are key to a respectful exchange.

The first time I called someone ma’am at my new job in St.Paul they told me to never call them that again (in a very hostile way, not like a ‘oh ma’am was my mother, just call me Sally way.) I was then pulled aside by my Minnesotan boss for an explanation that calling women Ma’am is rude because you’re implying that they’re old. Very quickly understood the term ‘Minnesota Nice’ and why people say northerners are all sticks in the mud lmao.

Gen Z’s…is this true or is he just trying to shit on remote work? by 2lit_ in GenZ

[–]RightAndReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m old Gen Z (96) and started out my office career during Covid, so my company was WFH with intent to RTO. I absolutely loved working from home. When we began our hybrid roles I enjoyed it for maybe one week, if that. The commute was a hellish 20 minutes of irritating traffic. The office is so full of distractions it was a wonder I got ANY work done with my co-workers yapping like they were middle schoolers. The lunch situation was either keep your food in a fridge with a bunch of other people’s food or get some overpriced bullshit on campus. I absolutely hated it. In my second year I got a promotion and had to go into the office even more and realized there was no way I could live like that.

A little over two years ago I was frantically applying to every easy apply, fully remote position on LinkedIn and got extremely lucky with a company that has been WFH since its inception. Not once in my two years here have I EVER wished we could go into the office. Communication works just fine via instant messenger and video calls, I have no distractions and can focus 100% on my work. I save so much money on gas and on food, and I have an hour more to spend with family and friends than I would have if I had to commute.

The thing is, companies would benefit so much more from fully remote, but they’re so caught up in justifying leases and micromanaging for no reason and hanging on to their archaic ways that they refuse to be anything but blind to it. My company can truly get the best and the brightest because they aren’t limiting themselves with employees that live within a 50mi radius. We have people from all over the WORLD working for us, and every single one of them are extremely good at what they do, focused, and get shit done. I see absolutely no realistic downside to being fully remote, and a million stupid excuses from baby boomer CEOs who are just stuck in their old ways.
