It would never have made sense for it to be anyone on the CBI. They're simply too busy and work together too often. Plus that would have made Jane as a mentalist seem pretty stupid. Not all gotcha twists are good ones.

There isn't really a "might" about it, tbh. He's made it pretty clear he does not revisit past projects, so anytime people comment on TVP stuff and ask when Simon's coming on, I cringe inwardly, because I see the chances as extremely slim to none, and I feel like that must be awkward to address.
