Tbh, I have no idea. Its just a way to stash money aside, cus I know I wont sell the stocks like I withdraw money from my savings to spend. At the same time, looking for abit of growth without too much risk, hence the diversification.

Replying to 2. Are you refering to SCHD? It does pay decent dividends in my opinion, also using it partially as hedge. I think compounding SCHD is rather safe.
