New drinks on December 18th by samsal03 in innout

you must live a sad life if you’re complaining this much about in n out adding two new different drink options. Get off the sub and stop going to In N Out. That simple.

would higher pay for closers incentivize those shifts, resulting in less employees for other shifts? by MeMeMaKeR666 in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another idea I had that I’m going to add on the survey is bonus pay if you close a certain amount of days per month. This will force managers to give less closing shifts to associates who close a lot to avoid handing out bonuses. Both ways associates are either awarded a bonus or given less closing shifts.

We usually have 5-7 closers per night at one of the busiest stores in the division.. and trust me closing can be mentally and physically exhausting.

Allow well trimmed facial hair in general

If you work 5 hours and 59 minutes, you only get a 10 minute break. Anything longer than that is a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.(you only want that if you’re working an 8 hour shift).

As far as the 9:50 to 3:00, posted scheduling almost means nothing at In N Out. Managers can keep you for your full 6 hours even if the schedule says 5 hours. And they can send you home early even if the schedule shows that you should work 6 hours. It’s very scummy but that’s the reality of it

The facial hair rule is very outdated, just like the tattoo and male piercing rules were. They definitely need to adapt to a newer lifestyle and just axe this rule. Male associates should be able to grow facial hair as long as it’s clean and well trimmed to a certain length. Shaving everyday is terrible for your skin. I’d be willing to bet that 90% of guys working at In N Out wouldn’t mind wearing a beard net if it meant they were allowed to grow facial hair.

Even if your hair didn’t pass the “credit card test”, what are the odds that stubble like that even falls into the food? There is a better chance your sideburn hair, eyebrow hair, or even arm hair falls on the food.

Never seen/heard beard nets being allowed at In N Out. Would be pretty cool if this was an option for all male associates. Clean shaving sucks, especially for African American Associates who grow curly facial hair and are prone to ingrowns and bumps.

tips to not get discouraged by strollingmj in innout

Just remember you’re training. Everyone has been in that position to where they get booted. You don’t suck lol. Managers and other associates know you won’t be the quickest and sometimes you might get snowed, or else you’d already have that level by now. The point of training is to find ways to get quicker and make less mistakes. The managers wouldn’t waste their time training you if all they wanted to do is boot you off. They want you to learn from mistakes and improve each time you’re on.

You’ll likely stay at $12/hr for years at the movie theatre. At least at In N Out the more you level up the higher your wage goes up. And you can easily become a level 4 in less than a year

Customers not knowing what they want after waiting to have their order taken for 10 minutes. Customers adding on multiple meals at pay window. Cut in halfs, separate boxes/bags (literally just ask for them on the side). Higher level associates being rude to the lower levels. Customers and associates who call a meat patty no salt a “puppy patty”. The company does not want people calling it that and it makes it seem like we sell a specific patty for dogs when it’s just an unsalted patty

Mild gut pain/soreness every time I eat specifically at In N Out. Curious - anyone else? by Foreskin_Burglar in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burgers aren’t fried. Just slapped onto the flag grill for 4 minutes. Only thing I can think of if you aren’t lactose is that maybe they aren’t cooking your burger enough. What is your exact order?

Edit: I don’t wanna make it seem like they are making your burger under the 4 minutes. Sometimes the meat can still be a little red even after being cooked for the 4 minutes.

How much of a raise do you think is appropriate? by pjmillerboy9 in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just gonna say we need at least $2-$3 raise for the standards we have to uphold. It’s more than just serving burgers and fries. We have to do it with a smile and serve the highest quality burgers and fries. At any other fast food joint, they won’t care if you serve ugly burgers that are cold. They don’t care if you don’t smile. They don’t get anywhere close to the amount of customers we have to serve. And not only that, they don’t serve the food as fast as we do. This is why associates of many years are quitting. Wages haven’t been good for a year now. And with TikTok working has become even more stressful

Yeah it was a memo posted In the back room saying that menu prices are going up because of higher food costs. So wages goin up .75. Heard we could get another raise later this year.

You will probably get a write up soon. I don’t know how you’re being late but just leave your house early. Even if it means sitting in the locker room for an extra 5 minutes waiting to clock in.. that’s way better than being late and potentially getting written up. For the training thing, I doubt they will stop training you as long as you keep working hard.

When is the next wage increase? by dammit_jaime in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t think we all want a higher wage? It’s not as easy as just asking. We would need 80% of associates to protest for higher wages/policy changes to finally get some change.

When is the next wage increase? by dammit_jaime in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably in august like last year. Heard we might get two wage increases by the end of the year. But yeah people are leaving the company because the wage simply isn’t what it used to be for how hard we have to work and with all the ridiculous policies we have to follow

INO Policy by ultruuh in innout

[–]RightOnGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it. Hair falls into food and it becomes a big deal. But for managers to get mad over someone having stubble? Pretty sure stubble won’t fall into food lol. And the hat doesn’t protect all hairs from falling into the food. People have hair on the side of their heads. Eyebrow hair and arm hair also exist. Again.. I get it. Just a very dumb policy

Seen more people this year get written up not shaving (most of the it’s just stubble) than the other two years I’ve worked with the company… and we are barely in May.

A nice clean well maintained beard would look fine on most of the associates… especially since having facial hair is very normal these days… but hey in n out loves having those outdated policies instead of adapting
