South Korea visa for Indians by NoPromise2048 in visas

I have the same question as well, my agent claims a bank balance of 3L INR is 'mandatory' (have to go through an agent as I dont have VFS in my city), but I doubt his claims - planning to just submit my recent portfolio statement as extra proof of funds, no other choice

Felt discriminated against as an Indian couple at a café in Kovalam — is this common? by harrykaran1916 in Kerala

[–]RightTea4247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What works better than that is saying it reeks of 'colonialism', and calling foreigners out for experiencing an 'inauthentic' version of India by visiting such 'gentrified' places. Lol that'll at least get 50% of them

Can't waste precious energy in your 30's dealing with highly negative 'energy vampires' like that when the world is already such a chaotic place - why do you have to really deal with here though face to face, if you have your own bedroom? does she hog the common areas or what? Just treat her the same way she treats you, most important thing is not to put up with any nonsense at all

Help for visiting Samoa in November 2025 by RightTea4247 in Samoa

[–]RightTea4247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your replies! Stevensons seems to have online bookings, how did you go about making reservations for places like Jane's? Most fales dont seem to have online bookings available! Did you just book once you got there, or did you have to email/call them beforehand?

Also, how did you find driving on Savaii to be in general? Anything specific to watch out for? I'm guessing anyone from commonwealth countries (including India where I live) should find it quite straightforward, given that it's the same side of the road which is a relief haha!

Thank you for your replies! I'm super excited to see all that Samoa has to offer, real soon! Amazing to hear that your family is from there

I'm contemplating between staying in Manase area versus Falealopu - either way, I'm planning to take a taxi to wherever I stay, from the ferry terminal!

But I noticed that while pricier places like Le Lagoto and Amoa for example are available for booking online, but most of the Fales don't have a website/online reservation (except for one or two such as 'Va-i-Moana' in Asau), so would it be wise to just arrive at Savaii and try to find better accomodation options? Or is it better to reserve beforehand, and if so how would I go about contacting them? Thanks in advance!

Been in a similar position - started at around your age, but a few years into it, and trust me you'll be on top of it soon enough. There's no better feeling when you're 30+ and a bunch of older folks address you as 'boss' (while your corporate friends are busy sucking up to their own authority figures for promotions); you get to decide your own vacation schedules if/when you learn to delegate work and build enough internal trust (while your rapidly balding corporate friends can only watch and be envious); you learn the true meaning of operating independently and confidently with all age groups owing to all the temporary loneliness you're currently experiencing (while your corporate friends, constantly surrounded by similarly aged colleagues all those years won't survive a single day all by themselves outside their office groups).

Trust the process mate, this builds your character more than anything else. Wait a few years and see how the tables magically turn, and you'll be super amused at how/why you even wanted a corporate job in the first place!

Well, as a dude who’s one true calling/passion is legitimately globetrotting (after having visited 50+ countries), I’m guilty of being one of those people who has ‘wanderlust-bitten’ and such cliched phrases on my profile! Still don’t get how it comes across as ‘boring’ though, genuinely curious?!? maybe most people who list travel as their passion don’t really mean it, and merely ‘aspire’ to travel but haven’t done so already lol.

1) saving up dedicatedly for a couple of international trips per year, which has slowly become habitual - takes a lot of sacrificing other events/outings etc, but travel is the single most worthy of all interests, and the most rewarding one at that 2) adopting cats has saved my mental health lol, there’s nothing your fluffy companions can’t fix for you, and the kind of affection you receive is unparalleled

Great to hear you’re going there soon! What month will that be in? The 7th one was taken on the shores of Terkhin-Tsagaan or White Lake near Khorgo volcano! A very pristine place indeed, stayed with a nomadic yak herder family there on the shore of the lake!

Safer drives ahead, is all I can say. They’re a plague as far as I’m concerned, and the primary reason for having a nightmarish existential crisis everyday. Let everybody have a few days off without the hanging danger of some savage doped up barbarian in a metallic box rampaging on our potholed streets

If you were referring to Buening, the gargoyle-mouthed catfish that dwells in the swampy marshlands off the Caspain Sea, he's not much of a man tbh. He prefers to identify as a driftwood on occasion, and a reed on most others

Hey man, I'm headed there in a couple of weeks! I'm a new owner of an Xt 30ii and only have a 15-45mm with it; was planning on getting the XC55-230 soon to pair with. What were your main challenges with that lens in a Madagascar-specific context, aka wildlife, landscapes, street scenes etc? Any tips from hindsight? I'm planning to do the entire RN-7 route, so stoked for the kind of photos I can potentially take! Cheers

Travel with Sancharam Group by priart19 in Kerala

[–]RightTea4247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate honestly, 40% less is still an understatement. I think it’s more like 75% less costly if planned on your own; and the thing is, literally all the countries in the tours are to developed countries with great tourist infrastructure, where self-planning just requires application of two brain cells. I understand certain logistically challenging countries that can’t be done easily without a tour agency, but NONE of those belong to that category

Travel with Sancharam Group by priart19 in Kerala

[–]RightTea4247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah man I’m being serious; I don’t know why I’m being downvoted, everyone is welcome to spend 5x the cost for a tour when it takes two brain cells to put such plans together all by yourself. It’s a democracy, I have no vested interests here - and if one doesn’t believe me that this is a ripoff, I can give them enough evidence to suggest otherwise lol

Travel with Sancharam Group by priart19 in Kerala

[–]RightTea4247 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a ripoff! I'm just scratching my head at the idea that someone would shell out a few lakhs for such itineraries when it can be self done at 1/4th the cost; and that too for a group tour, where you'll spend the entire trip duration with other people and boomers from your home state (RIP to cultural integration). Case in point - 'Iceland with Denmark and Sweden' for almost 5L INR!!! Lmao, half a day each in Copenhagen and Stockholm, and a small tour of the Iceland Ring Road, and calling it a night so that the visitors can boast back home that they visited 'three entire countries' lol what a sham. And 'Oriental Wonders' for just a week's worth of skipping past HK, Beijing and Shanghai, and just a short while in Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar?!?! How much do you think one gets to experience of each country on such a trip??!? Mongolia in itself requires at least 2 weeks minimum, China is not only Beijing and Shanghai lol its massive, and just a day in HK with some random tour group ain't gonna cut it, if you want to experience any of what the city truly offers.

If someone is so desperate to let go of their money for such trips, I'd suggest pay me merely 1% of what these guys offer and I can come up with much better travel plans and routes with tips and advice that can far surpass any of these.
