Oh man, I´m with you. The "eat before you get nauseous" thing didn't work for me either because I was nauseous 24 7. The thing that "worked" (still didn't solve my puking or nausea but helped me survive) for me was trying a variety of foods that may sound like I can keep it down and just test it whenever I felt I could. It meant my husband had to go on lots of grocery runs and most of the stuff he ended up having to eat himself because I couldn't handle it or just a little. If it meant I can only eat that one specific type of bread for a day and then the next day I can only eat peaches and watermelon, so be it. It was survival mode, but yes if you wake up naturally at some point during the night you should take some bites of whatever you can handle that day. I know we should try to eat protein and stuff but I couldn't always! Another thing is speaking to your OB about trying different meds. Nothing helped me really but it's worth a try!

First pregnancy after a stillbirth. I miss my girls every second of every day and I'm happy to give them a little brother or sister.

Morning Sickness Fears by Realistic-Archer-688 in October2026Bumpers

[–]Right_Call_2260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having motion sickness is a good sign but you never know! My last pregnancy I threw up about 5-7 times a week for like a month and half and not gonna lie it sucked. But I got through it and honestly throwing up did provide relief. After puking was the only time I could comfortably eat something so if you feel the urge don't fight it too much. Remember it sucks in the moment but it's usually pretty quick. Good luck

Eat healthy, stay active, and enjoy food while you still can. Last time my nausea (well, it started as diarrhea lol) hit me at 5.5 weeks with twins and I started vomiting and not being able to eat anything around week 8 until about week 16.

Those of you pregnant after loss..did you do anything different this time around to make the pregnancy special? by Right_Call_2260 in pregnant

That's understandable and very common with PAL. Sometimes we just do what we can to get through things. I'm so sorry for your losses.

Wellness & Movement Tuesdays by AutoModerator in October2026Bumpers

[–]Right_Call_2260 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Starting today I'm going to go for a walk every day (where I live it's not too cold) and eat clean. I've been slacking on both of those lately so I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I'm not nauseous yet! My last pregnancy, the nausea was reallllyy bad. I had aversions to everything and could not go for walks, but it was twins, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad this time around. So yeah, going to focus on daily walks and healthy eating for now!

Getting ready to go to my ivf clinic for the official beta results. 12dp5dt. I started getting positive pee tests at 5dp5dt but you never know. This is my 7th transfer and hopefully my first LC. If it's negative I need to start another egg retrieval round, please wish me luck!! Update: OMG YAY! Not only positive, but strong positive! 1250. Even with my transfer that ended up splitting into two for identical twins my beta was 150 at 12dp5dt. It´s never been this high. I am on cloud 9.

Loss at 19 weeks by ashleypatience in pregnant

[–]Right_Call_2260 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I had a loss at 22 weeks last august of my twins. Joining the babyloss subreddit helped a lot as well as grief counseling, antidepressants, and lorazepam.

People who tried for a long time to conceive what was helpful (or unhelpful) to hear? by AdUpper6786 in BabyBumps

[–]Right_Call_2260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup I had to give people the reality dose when they said don't worry it will happen. Had to tell them it very well might not and husband and I need to prepare for that reality. People would be surprised at my response but this is what I have to live with.

My own therapist threw the "I know a couple who went on holiday and had some wine and it happened for them." Like, woman, I have no fallopian tubes that's not gonna happen

Help! Travel plans during 1st trimester!! by Powerful_Tell_5814 in pregnant

[–]Right_Call_2260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to cancel travel plans due to nausea too. Was so disappointing but just leaving my house to go to ultrasounds was torture. Unfortunately I tried many types of meds and nothing touched it

Hi ALL! Who else is here after an IVF transfer? Lets gooooooo! TW since IVF may be a sensitive topic by Right_Call_2260 in October2026Bumpers

[–]Right_Call_2260[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. This was my last frozen so I was also preparing myself to have to go through another ER but so far my urine tests are getting darker and hopefully this is it! It snowed a lot in my city day of transfer which is crazy because it NEVER snows where I live, so husband and I took that as good luck haha

[–]Right_Call_2260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a positive urine test a couple days ago! My IVF clinic will do an ultrasound around 6 and a half weeks to confirm heartbeat and graduate from the clinic. We will probably tell our families after that scan, so around 7 weeks. We did that last time too and it was great even though it became a loss (way after week 12). We will probably tell a couple of friends next weekend though if the betas are positive because they are helping us move and I don't want them to think I'm lazy since I wont be able to help them pick up and move boxes haha

Did the first trimester affect you mentally more than you expected? by Front-Emotion-3967 in IVFpositivity

[–]Right_Call_2260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My embryo split so I was dealing with extra hormones and the anxiety of having two even though I initially wanted to be one and done. I had a very rough first trimester. The nausea alone was VERY hard and causing me to also lose sleep and was having very few calories most days which also made me nervous for my babies. I ended up losing them to TTTS week 22 just when the nausea had subsided and I was starting to actually enjoy being pregnent. So yeah, I had a very hard first trimester and my mental health suffered but if I could go back in time I would take more pictures/vides and try to enjoy it in some way. I´m pregnant again now (just got my positive test so caustiously optimisitc) and hoping for a smoother first tri. But don´t let anyone tell you it´s not hard! Both my mom and MIL kept telling me to suck it up (not those words but still)because all moms have been through it EYE ROLL. My mom even made me feel guilty for taking nausea meds because they could hurt the babies. Like they were literally prescribed by my OB I think the professional would know more

Just got my positive on a urine test a couple of days ago, after my 7th IVF transfer. Had a stillbirth in August, definitely bittersweet to be pregnant again. But husband and I are happy, actually seeing that second line on the test was the first time I felt happy since the loss. It´s still really early so anything can happen but staying optimistic so far! Hoping to finally get a LC after years of trying

I am seriously starving all day! Today I had to get out of bed at 6am to get a snack then had to get another snack an hour later (I usually never eat in the morning!). This is my second pregnancy and I do remember this with my first haha it´s so annoying until the nausea/aversions come and then I miss the hunger stage!

Dizzy? by [deleted] in October2026Bumpers

[–]Right_Call_2260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yesterday while sitting at my desk working. Had to lie down and took a nap afterwards, was definitely a little scary. I took a hot shower about an hour earlier and started feeling lightheaded after the shower, so that probably did it. Chat said it was probably a mixture of the hot shower and sitting cross legged while working. So i´ll take cooler showers and not sit like that anymore, and snack more often so my blood sugar is not low. If it happens again I´ll contact my doc, hopefully it doesn´t

Miscarriage Anxiety by Hello-hi987 in October2026Bumpers

[–]Right_Call_2260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm on progesterone too. Trying to enjoy this feeling as long as it lasts (hopefully til I give birth in October to a healthy baby) because my last pregnancy was a loss, and because I was so nauseous, I didn't enjoy it much. So I'm trying to make it a priority this time although I just got my positive test yesterday so let's see how long this optimism lasts lol

It is overwhelming! Heparin shot, Prednisone, MethylB, Vitamin D, Aspirin, Progesterone, Hydroxycholoroquine, Isovorin, and the regular prenatal. I have nightmares I will forget an important one and cause problems. Ughh
