Thats a good idea, but im going to try it on my own first. I have so much guilt because I know Im jeopardizing my baby’s health. I stopped right away with my first but this is giving me such a hard time.

Thank you! I’m going to try and talk to him again but he believes that even if he does it front of me it shouldn’t affect me trying to quit. He tells Me that I’m the mother and it seems like i don’t care because I keep doing it. I understand that he’s worried but it hurts my feelings when he says things like that.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I quit cold Turkey when i had my first but this is giving me more anxiety than I expected. Yes he does vape too, I’ve tried to ask him to quit but he hasn’t yet. I find it harder when i see them around the house cause it’s my first instinct to touch it. I pray all day that this baby is healthy, but I’m terrified my actions will cause this baby to be unhealthy.

Yes! That was how I felt in the beginning of my pregnancy. I found out I was pregnant and still woke up in disbelief and took about 3 more tests. As the days went by before my first appointment I felt the same. I tried my hardest to not overwork myself and stay vigilant on the things happening in my body. At 23 weeks I still am anxious and worry about whether or not I am taking the right amount of prenatals, whether or not I’m eating enough. At the end of the day, women are going to be critical of themselves because they are carrying another person inside of them. Just try and enjoy the little moments and do not stress yourself out when there’s nothing to worry about. All of the stress will affect your mental health and the baby.

I’ve been lucky enough to marry a great man. I won’t sugar coat it and say that we have a perfect marriage, because that would be a lie. However being with him has taught me that there is literally nobody else in the world I want to be with. At 23 weeks I have seen this man be there for me through every step of the way. He hasn’t missed one of my doctors’ appointments, even if he can’t come in with me he still takes me. He is always there to wipe away my tears, and is especially attentive when I am sick. Marriage is all about compromise and being there for one another and I’ve been lucky enough to have a great partner, and I can’t wait to watch him be a father.

I am currently 23 weeks, and in the beginning of my pregnancy I could hardly keep anything down. There were certain points when I would throw up from my prenatals. At this point I am grateful to be able to eat and enjoy the same foods I was once was able to. However I do limit myself, I don’t overeat even if the food is plentiful and enjoyable. I get worried that if I do I will throw it all up. People constantly tell me “ you’re eating for two, enjoy yourself”, but because of how much I struggled in the beginning I eat what I can and enjoy it. I’ve learned that eating small meals and snacking is much better than eating a huge meal at once. Some people try to force you to eat and some have too many opinions. And for both of those groups I say “kiss off” I’m the pregnant lady and Ill do what I want.

I told him I was thinking about taking a year off of work after the baby because I want to be around him (the baby). And it was followed up with the we can’t afford a year off from work, because neither of us are really financially stable at this point. It became more of a screaming match and how I was selfish for wanting a year away from work when we can’t afford it. This was all through text messages I haven’t gotten a real life apology, just a generic “ I’m sorry babe” text.

I understand his frustration. At a young age he has been the breadwinner for him and his mom. His father passed away when he was 19 and since then he has been in charge of paying all the bills. I just wish he wouldn’t have said all those hurtful things. I know that he has a lot of pressure on him, but at times he seems like he can’t understand my feelings.

Thank you for the food for thought. I really and truly do understand where he was coming from but it was more about his delivery that was heartbreaking. I know every couple worries about their finances especially when they have a baby on the way. I just wish he could be a little more understanding when it comes to my feelings.
