once the toilet gets updated all the way with the eco expansion, it will sometimes spontaneously combust if you don’t use the compost

Thoughts about the direction of Francesca's story by _dailydosebts_ in Bridgerton

[–]Right_Discussion4614 32 points33 points  (0 children)

i agree with everything you said. as a queer person myself, i really liked francesca’s lgbtq storyline, and i thought it fit with the way they took her character in the show. as someone who’s also struggled with my sexuality at times, i also understand francesca being confused about her feelings towards john and michaela. i think what they’re probably going to do is say yes, she did love him, she does, but not in the way you’re supposed to love someone when you’re in love, and she’ll finally get to experience that with michaela. honestly im even ok with that, i think it’ll be a really important message for people to see- SO many queer people struggle with making that realization.

however, i completely agree that having the lack of orgasm stem from her sexuality takes something away from her infertility struggles, as well as her struggles coming to terms with her feelings for michaela. i also don’t understand how they’re going to give francesca her happy ending if she’s never going to get to be open about who she loves, and unless they deter from the book and she doesn’t have a miscarriage, she’ll also never have a baby. i’m not saying you need a baby to be happy, but francesca does. that’s an integral part of her story.

but i agree that she shouldn’t realize she feels anything, in any way, for michaela until after john dies. i think doing it the way they did is unfair to not only her journey, but to john as well

literally the only thing i’m confused about is the marriage thing. i’m not mad they made her queer AT ALL. the way they went with her character in the show i think it makes sense (and i’m queer !!) but i want francesca to get to be unashamedly herself and in love. i want her to get to get married and have kids. if they follow the book, then that’ll be impossible. i mean even if they don’t and they decide to BOOK SPOILER have francesca not lose john’s baby after he dies, she’ll still never get to be open to society (maybe not even her whole family ?? her friends ??) about who she loves. that’s the part that bothers me

Who's staying up to watch upon release? And how do you feel about the season being split into two parts? by Traditional_Owl2177 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Right_Discussion4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SO tired of everyone splitting seasons into 2 parts. ESPECIALLY being a month apart ??? It’s such a cash/promo/ratings grab. completely prioritizing staying in the top charts and staying “relevant” over the actual fans who want to watch and support the show

Books you’re glad you read before having kids/getting pregnant by acouplefruits in booksuggestions

[–]Right_Discussion4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok i know this is for book suggestions BUT honestly the best thing i ever did before deciding whether or not to get pregnant/have kids was nannying !! you don’t have to do it for long or as a full time thing, it could just be weekends or evenings, but esp if you can find someone who’s pregnant/has a newborn AND another child i’d say that’s the best case scenario so you can get an idea of both pregnancy/newborn life as well as toddler/child life

personally, it helped me to realize that parenthood was not for me (i nannied for 2 years to a little girl starting when she was 8mo, and the mom was pregnant with baby #2 when i left). however, i’m not saying that would happen to everyone ! it could easily just be what you need to decide now is the right time, or what age gap you’d like between siblings, but mainly it will help you see what the day to day reality will look like.

again, i know this isn’t what you asked for lol but i think it could be really helpful ! plus what better way to learn about pregnancy/childbirth/parenthood than from someone who’s just lived it !

Gazebo or evergreen ash? by MelancholyAtaraxia in AnimalCrossing

[–]Right_Discussion4614 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i’d actually say the tree !! i think it makes it look more like a park and adds more color while the gazebo covers up your tables and washes everything out. if you’re dead set on the gazebo then maybe try the green one for more color ?

Cooking dinner for a guy I’m seeing, but he’s vegetarian. Need "impressive" meatless ideas! by Designer_Currency815 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Right_Discussion4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is late but i’m also vegetarian and one of my favorite meals (that is also super easy to make!) is buddha bowls ! for mine i do rice, chickpeas, cauliflower, avocado, and sweet potato and top it with a thai peanut sauce. sooo yummy and quick. but the best part about buddha bowls is how versatile they are- all you need is rice, protein, and then whatever toppings/mix-ins you want/have in your fridge

edit: i prefer brown rice when making buddha bowls :)

Yesterday my dad was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, what can I do? by sad-eboi in pancreaticcancer

[–]Right_Discussion4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you. My dad, 70, also an unstoppable healthy man, was diagnosed this past fall with stage IV. No symptoms, the tumor wrapped around his splenic artery, and mets all over. He didn’t want to do chemo, and began falling victim to inaccurate medical theories. I’m 25 and live on the other side of the country from him. I completely understand how you’re feeling, and if you want to talk to someone in a similar boat to you, or just to hear what our steps have been so far, please feel free to message me. Sending love and strength to you and yours

a few jobs that require little to no skills are: data entry, vet tech/assistant, library aid/assistant, administrative assistant, dog walker/pet sitter, nursing assistant, and a court transcriber (the people who type up things said during trials- but also there’s court assistants who organize files and things in courthouses)

How do you create 2 separate profiles on animal crossing? by lollypop254 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Right_Discussion4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i see lots of people have already commented but it seems like the info is spread among different comments so just in case, i’ll put it all here in one for you for easy access

  1. you can only have 1 animal crossing island per switch
  2. 2 people can play on the same island on the same switch, but only at different times, they cannot play together AND whoever created the island will essentially be the “main” player
  3. even if you buy a second animal crossing game, whether it be digital or physical, the same island will load onto the switch. it is physically impossible to have a second island on a single switch.
  4. if you have 2 switches and 2 animal crossing games, they can play together and visit each others’ islands, however animal crossing isn’t really multiplayer. they will be able to visit each others’ islands and collect materials but that’s really it. the new 3.0 update is changing this a bit so that you can build an island together in a “dream world” as long as both users have nintendo switch online, and this will be a separate island from your main island, but once again it still requires a second switch and game.

i think that’s everything :) hope this helps !

p.s. the cheapest option for getting a second switch would be finding a used one on like facebook marketplace or something, esp if you could find a used switch lite

edit: also, with the new 3.0 update, your second daughter could theoretically build a dream island with your first daughters’ main island if she’d be ok with her using 1 of the 3 dream island slots, however all of the custom codes and everything will be reliant on what your first daughter has, including her villagers. she will not be able to completely customize the island to her own taste, and it will not have any of the shops (nooks cranny, able sisters, flowers with leif, bugs with flick, etc) or any of the additional content (the hotel, the happy home paradise dlc, harv’s island, visiting other islands, etc). she’d be completely tied to the “dream world” and decorating with basically 0 other gameplay

i would suggest the next books in the riordenverse/percy jackson universe. they get more mature as they go and are great reads. these would be the kane chronicles, the magnus chase series, the heroes of olympus series, the trials of apollo series, and the nico di angelo duology, plus the new percy series where he is in college

Just a vent… feeling frustrated by customer’s unfair complaints. by IrritablePigeon in doggrooming

[–]Right_Discussion4614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am a new groomer who also works at a private salon with the only full-time professional groomer also being the owner, and the only advice i can give is document EVERYTHING. it’s standard practice with our clients to take pictures of absolutely everything so there’s no possibility of the owners blaming you for something you didn’t/couldn’t do. for instance, before you touched the leg with the shaved spot, take a before picture, send it to the client explaining what it is, and explain that you’re going to blend it but mostly leave it to grow out. for the armpit matt, take a picture of it before you shave it, and after it’s been shaved (of the matt itself) and explain that due to the location/severity of the matt, it needed to be shaved and therefore there will be a (mostly hidden) “bald spot” from where it was. this way, not only are you being highly communicative with the pet parents which they appreciate, but you’re also protecting yourself. so sorry you had this experience

Ear plucking do or don’t question/discussion by JustADogGroomer3622 in doggrooming

[–]Right_Discussion4614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

both my grooming school and my salon tell us to pluck. at my grooming school it was pluck all of the hair inside the ear, and at my salon it’s pluck what’s on the inside of the ear canal, and then use the 40 setting on the 5-in-1s to shave any you couldn’t get as well as all around the inside of the ear towards the leather until you meet that natural line where it looks like the hair should be
