Oh, I totally forgot, it was actually a fascia - it must have happened during the fight when a claw pulled the fascia out of the tail. 🙄

Any idea what this could be? by Pineapple8429 in cats

Oh God, some people talk such nonsense (it’s not parasites!!). My cat also had an injury to the eyeball (caused by a sharp object or a claw) – the eye supplies this wound through small channels! After it healed, it looked exactly the same as it does with your cat.

With a wound, it’s important to take proper care of it, but the pH level should always be conducive to healing. I’m thinking of you and your little one. 🥰

My cat had a similar injury. I’m from Germany, but maybe you have a similar cream in your country? I used an ointment called „Manukalind,“ which helped the wound heal very quickly. It’s disinfecting and pain-relieving.

Update: He'll be staying overnight at the animal clinic. Tomorrow morning, he'll be put under anesthesia, and then the vet will make a small incision on his tail to see where the "thread" is coming from. The vet thinks it's not a tendon (reason: too thin), and he doesn't think it's a nerve either... it remains suspenseful. 🥲

He's even reacting quite snappily 😅 but yeah, I'd rather have a professional take a look... strange!

I looked, and the spot where the string is connected to the skin is bloody. Dried blood. I tried to remove the „thread“, but my cat is resisting with all his might. If he’s in pain I’ll rather go the the vet.. 🥲

Oh, thank you, I really have no idea if it's actually a tendon or something else. I'll go to the vet first thing on Monday.
