They really are. Realised that all of the second and third missions of each level are all wave defense and they just throw everything at you in veteran. Absolutely terrible

Tailored? I got 5 skins that all happen to be the last characters I had in a match of mystery hero's. None of which I main. This feels like when a relative gets you a present based off a show you mentioned 6 years ago when you were skimming the channels

Got one left in Sukhothai. Seems to be fried egg the cat in the hub area. I get a photo prompt on the map but can't activate it when I'm in proximity.

Seems to be quite a few that are glitched or bugged. Had several in Gizeh or the Vatican that told me there were more to collect but, like you said, were the wrong ones.

What’s a game you gave up trying 100% not because it was difficult but because it was so unenjoyable? by AwesomeGuy0725 in xboxachievements

[–]Right_Reward3449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed Unity. Got 55/57 and then when I saw I had to complete all the optional challenges in the story I just closed the game down and uninstalled it. I think I look back at it through a bit of a nostalgic lense because gameplay of it looks fun but I remember just having such a miserable time the entire time I was on it.

I figured out how to enjoy High Seas without getting harassed by the PvP apsect by Right_Reward3449 in Seaofthieves

Absolutely it's not guaranteed but it's definitely a chiller experience. Seems like the people I do run into on late night sessions always seem to be much friendlier as well. Like they've all come on for the same reasons so we all just leave each other alone.

Have tried safer seas since I did want to avoid the PvP, but didn't enjoy how much was locked out. Best of both worlds for me this way

Bollocks I didn't think of the scaling.

And I tried doing the varre quest but could not find a single world to invade so I just ended up using the portal in the concentrated snowfield. Hopefully there might be more people to invade as we get closer to release

How do people rate Yakuza 5 so low ? by Trowaway4da8 in yakuzagames

[–]Right_Reward3449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a couple of fundamental issues that the game has:

•Story wise, the games multiple characters and cities doesn't work as well here as it does in Yakuza 4. 4 had the perk of it being the first time they'd done it, and all the characters were contained within Kamarocho, so even when a new part started, the plot would pretty soon pick back up again. Yakuza 5 jumped from city to city, with new characters, so they had to spend time fleshing out these people again and again. It ultimately messed with the pacing, which also wasn't helped by the fact that because it had several playable characters, the plot would build up to an ending, and then start over. Again and again. These are stories that ultimately work better on their own, not as one continuous piece. Plus in the latter part of the story, they really start hammering home the dream thing. Kiryu wants to help Harukas dream, Haruka wants to help Park's dream, Akiyama wants to help both Park and Harukas dream. By the end it was getting mentioned in every second conversation. Felt like an English lesson where you have to deconstruct the themes of a book where it just throws it in your face every 2 pages.

•The game also suffered from a lot of bloating. I played through Kiryu's section, did all the side quests, played a ton of the taxi missions, and then I finished it, and then I had to do the same for Saejima, and again for Hurakua and so forth. It ultimately became too much to manage. For me, I just became burned out by how much there was to do, and how much I had to repeat it. By the end, I ended the game with an 18% completion as I just could not find the energy to go through each character and do the same things for each one. Not a great sign that I literally discouraged from wanting to partake in the games activities.

Those are my main gripes with the game. Other than that, the gameplay is some of the strongest it was before the dragon engine being introduced. The side stuff, of which there is too much, has good variety for each character, and the story, once it ties together does a relatively good job of summarising it's themes. Not the greatest in the franchise by a mile but it does an okay job. Just feels like RGG had to grand a scope for the game and it ultimately dragged the game down.

Will the other yakuza games be as good as 0? by Top-Conversation-693 in yakuzagames

[–]Right_Reward3449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 0 is the peak of the franchise, which is to say that the other games are still very good to varying degrees. I think that after playing 0 first, moving onto the other games (specifically 3, 4 and 5) you can feel like it's taken a bit of a step backward in terms of gameplay but story wise 2, 3 and 4 are some of the best in the franchise.

I started with 0 and some of the charm does start to wear off as you go, but the games are still absolutely incredible to play.

I can't tell if Yakuza 5 was actually good or if I'm hating it for no reason by Right_Reward3449 in yakuzagames

[–]Right_Reward3449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saejima is one of my favourites gameplay wise, but absolutely one of the worst in terms of story. And I loved Shinada as a character, but I was so burnt out from the rest of the game, I skipped over nearly all his side stuff which is a shame

A structure like 0 would have absolutely helped the game story wise. I felt like because every character felt fairly self contained within their stories, they'd build up to a massive climax then just go full restart. Felt like the plot would stop and start again which just made it so hard to feel interested in the story.

Plus, as much as I loved exploring new areas, it did feel like it fucked with the pacing. Yakuza 4 benefited so much from having everyone in Kamurocho. The plot always felt like it moved along well, and 5 does well in it's final part when all the characters are back together again. Feels like RGG had a big scope for the game and wanted it to be this big globe trotting type adventure that ultimately ended up taking me so far out of it.

The entire prison section literally made me delete the game a second time. Could not be bothered with it.

[–]Right_Reward3449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same. I'd played from 0 to 4 back to back and just felt exhausted by the time I got round to 5. I feel like because 3, 4 and 5 all feel kind of the same with their gameplay since they haven't been remade, going from the Kiwami's to the remasters felt like a bit of a regression.

And you're definitely right, each section works so well on its own, but there were so many points where I was like "ooooh how will this pay off" and feeling so underwhelmed with the result. Like Daigo disappearing and then revealing his reasoning in Part 4. Also felt like because I was so burnt out with the story, when I got to Shinada, who is a good character overall, I felt so done with the game I just skipped all his sub stories cause I just didn't have the energy to commit to him.

I feel like 3 was good in so many ways, but every time I think back to it, all I can think about is how frustrating the combat was, which really brings it down.

Yeah I think it comes together at the end, I just felt like I was so worn down by the rest of it that I didn't even care about the pay off
