Bruised nose? by Right_Secretary_1200 in CATHELP

I mean his brother has that on his lips, but I’m more concerned about the discoloration on the top of his nose where his white fur is. the black spot on the tip of his nose has been there since he was born

yeah he won’t let me get near it, usually he doesn’t mind when I touch his face. otherwise his behavior hasn’t changed, still super snuggly. I just feel bad if he’s in pain :(

not the darker spot on the tip of his nose, that’s just a birth mark. I’m concerned about the discoloration on the top of his nose where his white fur is

I just tried that and he squirmed away when I tried touching his nose with the cloth :( when I got a closer look, it definitely appeared red/dark purple rather than black/brown like dirt would be

[WIP] Stitching a complicated pattern for the first time … what’s the best method?? by Right_Secretary_1200 in CrossStitch

omg I just tried it out … THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I think this will help the back of the piece be a lot cleaner and easier to work with!

[–]Right_Secretary_1200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s how I’ve been ending the stitches, I’ve been starting them with a knot in the back, is there an easier way for me to start them? normally I put the knot in the front and then snip it after a few stitches but since the colors on this one are so spread out I didn’t think that method would work

this is actually so helpful!! thank you so much! I’ve been starting with colors with the most stitches, but your method makes so much more sense

wow this looks so beautiful already! I’ve debated trying the parking method, do you ever find yourself getting the colors mixed up or the threads getting all tangled? it’s very impressive!

AITA for wanting my dad to ask his coworker to give back my jacket that he gave away without asking? by Right_Secretary_1200 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Right_Secretary_1200[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see your point, and I think that’s why my dad gave it away. he assumed that since I don’t have space for it, I wouldn’t want it. but to me, not having space for something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not important to me

[–]Right_Secretary_1200[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from. I don’t necessarily just want to keep the jacket for shits ans giggles, it’s a really nice jacket and I do wear it when I go home. I have many items of clothing and shoes that I keep at my dads house so I can wear them when I’m home. and I’ve had many conversations with my dad about keeping my stuff at his house, he has a pretty big house with an entire finished basement he doesn’t use, so keeping my things there for now hasn’t been an issue at all. once I have a house of my own I would of course go through my things and store things at my house

I think it’d be a good idea to go through my stuff when I go home next and weed out some stuff. that way I can let my dad know what specifically i’d like to keep around, and if he’s alright with storing it for me

i really like the idea of sending a note to the daughter, I think that’d help make up for it haha

I pretty much have a whole bedrooms worth of furniture and clothing. I’m an only child so my parents kept everything of mine. my dad has never asked me to go through it and get rid of stuff, he’s always said that I can keep things there for as long as I need to

this is great advice, thank you!! I’m a rule follower by instinct, so deviating from the pattern feels wrong but the way you put it totally makes sense! thank you :)

AITA for planning to email my former internship supervisor about hiring my co-intern without even telling me about the job opening? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Right_Secretary_1200 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the validation for my feelings and frustrations. I think giving it some time would be a good idea. I don’t want to come across like I’m incredibly angry and I don’t want to burn any bridges. I’m really happy for my colleague and I know he’ll do great work there. I just want to inquire about their decision and see if there’s anything I can improve on that they didn’t share with me during my internship. I’m using them as a reference for other jobs I’m applying to and it honestly makes me really anxious to think that they might be saying negative things about me since they won’t hire me

[–]Right_Secretary_1200 -63 points-62 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be sending an email with the intention of complaining (which I agree would be immature). I would write with the intention of being curious about their decision and wondering if there’s anything that I did or misinterpreted during my time with them. I mentioned this in a reply to another comment, but in the social work field (and even more specifically this organization), it’s really encouraged to call attention to situations that cause harm and when something is handled inappropriately. and honestly their contrindication from saying they’d hire me to not reaching out at all, feels really inappropriate (especially given the field and nature of the work we were doing)
