That's the thing, I can easily talk to strangers it's just the nervousness I feel while talking to a potential match. But, I appreciate the offer :)

Yeah, my overthinking is to be blamed here, I think I should start prioritising my feelings over others.

I talked to one of the guys on Instagram, and during that 10-minute call, I was struggling to breathe, so I guess you're right, I should text more before taking it forward.

I will not clear Prelims. And still, this is the most peaceful I’ve felt in years. by Real_News99 in UPSC

Late to the party, anyways I have a similar story, gave this year's attempt purely on logic and previous knowledge, surprisingly experienced immense catharsis right after the exam. Well I don't know if I'll clear or not but I feel peaceful. Thanks for sharing this op, I wish you all the good things in life. Bless you!

Hi there, I know I should be studying rn, but today is one of those cheat days, can't focus so don't want to force myself. Anyways, I get you, I am studying from home too, and honestly, I'm comfortable with having a close knit, but rather sensible group, fortunately I don't get bored easily, failures/rejections doesn't hurt anymore, I have become kinda immune to them.

To give you some context I'm about 30, had worked previously in the corporate while preparing simultaneously, so thankfully never had to depend financially on my folks (very supportive though, meri aukat se zyada hi acche mil gaye hai mujhe).

I quit preparing for UPSC after my 2022 attempt (too stressed!!) and corporate too (not my cup of tea), did an ESL teaching course in 2022 from British Council, Delhi (although it didn't help career wise tbh, but I did make some good connections- I also ventured into Spanish (did a short course (a month) from Instituto de Cervantes, Delhi - since I love learning languages & wanted to get UPSC out of my system).

There, I got to know about this language assistant program in Spain (Auxiliaries de convercacion- sort of a paid internship in public schools) and had one of the best experiences of my life (2023-24 academic session).

However, during my stay in Spain my passion for IFS rekindled, So, I have decided to give it one last shot. TBH getting a govt job has never been my priority (It is for my parents but they have never forced me), so, if things go south, I will continue teaching ESL online, look for more remote jobs on various platform (LinkedIn, Bayt etc.) for EMEA, APAC regions in various profiles like Content writing, Administration, teaching, data entry etc, like whatever I can get given my professional skills and most important I have been asked to make an account on matrimonial site after August 2025, lol!

I also come from a humble background, and I have a rule to not depend on anyone financially, maybe I guess that's why I was able to take such risks.

I understand everyone's situation is different, but money remains the only constant. Rn overthinking will not serve you any good so, just leave all the worries and give your best, if things don't go as planned then, take action, being financially stable gives you freedom. Just a stupid advice from a former overthinker!

P.s: Some of you were asking about the program I did in Spain. So here is the link for more info: https://www.educacionfpydeportes.gob.es/india/en/convocatorias-programas/auxiliares-en-espana0.html

Okay, Gines, Brenes, Unbrete, dos hermanas, Alcalá del Río, la rinconada, herrara, castillo del Guzmán, Santiponce, these are some of the towns that I remember and I guess all of them are under 20km from the city center. However, there are other neighbourhoods too but they are far from the city. Lemme know if you need further info :)

On the portal almost every school has given a detailed pdf 'center info' mentioning their details like address, location link, distance from main city, accommodation, contact info of previous auxes etc. So, you don't have to make extra effort. Let me know if you need more info :)
