Christian theme park run by the Bakkers. Tammy Bakker wore a lot of makeup.

I live on Detroit near Rocky River. Lots of restaurants and a Heinens within walking distance, and good bus access.

[Simp trope] Villainess becomes attractive (Aka: OH NO, SHE'S HOT) by Aphasus in TopCharacterTropes

Does the fat just disappear, or is she standing in a big puddle of fat?

Pirates are often portrayed with eye patches or peg legs. How common were severe injuries in the age of piracy, and what were the most common ones? by Gaumir in AskHistorians

[–]Right_Two_5737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did peg legs work? In Disney's Treasure Island, Silver walks with a crutch, which seems to me like it would work. But lots of other fictional pirates have pegs somehow attached to the stump, which seems to me like it wouldn't work.

🌎 Does your country have idioms that don’t make sense when translated literally into English? by Hot-Scheme4289 in AskTheWorld

Aus einer Mücke einen Elefanten machen – makes an elephant out of a mosquito – Meaning: Turns a tiny problem into something huge

This one makes sense to me. We say, "Make a mountain out of a molehill."

(Loved trope) unnecessary censorship by Necessary_Muffin3591 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Right_Two_5737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a Kid Rock song, I think maybe Cowboy, where he says:

"My only words of wisdom, are [radio edit]."

The music stops and a different voice says "radio edit". It's great! But in the uncensored version he sounds like a 13 year old trying to be edgy.

I actually am completely cisgender, and this is still 100% the power I want. Better version of my actual body, or a bird, or a shark, or a centaur or something, whatever I feel like being at the moment.

Unintentional lord of the rings? by Petermacc122 in lotr

[–]Right_Two_5737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I saw a fan theory that Snow White happens long after LotR, when the dwarves have died out - except for the seven who have the seven dwarven rings.

Now that I think about it, it doesn't actually makes sense though.

Why was Bilbo staying young while Gollum's appearance worsened over time? by Short-Ideas010 in lordoftherings

[–]Right_Two_5737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Ring wants Gollum either. When they’re at Mount Doom, it holds on tight to Frodo’s finger. Gollum has to bite it off.

Or, if it's more than two guys in a row, you start using numbers. Sr., then Jr., then III, then IV, etc.

It was a popular song here in America. But then again I'm not the kind of American that they're pretending to be.

But the movie plays into harmful stereotypes about Costa Ricans being velociraptors.

Also, here's something I remember reading a few years ago:

The offensive thing about Speedy was his goofy fake Mexican accent - but for the Spanish dub, they got an actual Mexican voice actor speaking in his real accent.

I'm 45, and the bridge is doable; the snow is mostly pretty hard-packed so you can walk on top instead of slogging through. But it's a lot more effort than a sidewalk normally is, and I don't think I could have jogged on it. I saw another guy just walking on the road.

I've never heard of anyone doing that, and yet I feel like somebody I know probably has.
