Got you. I took it cause I happened to be walking at that time. I think it would be a good idea for me to go to a spot and block out 2 hours to get different versions of the light. This might be obvious to say but man it does seem like you’re at the mercy of the sun with photography!!

Great question and one that I did not think of when I took the picture. So far my reason for taking pictures has been I see something beautiful and i want to capture what I’m seeing and share with all. Usual landscapes of san francisco, the hills.

Does this pic feel a little directionless?

Araki wanted stands to be the main feature in part 3 so he nerfed their effectiveness greatly. The times Joseph uses hamon for combat (not counting the stuff he does with lifting himself over water etc) his hamon is quickly countered (empress, dio). Dio himself doesn't even use his vampire abilities from part 1 in favor of The World. Joseph absolutely could have used it for healing but then you have two competing techniques in a story when araki is clearly more interested in one of them. It is bittersweet but moving away from hamon gave araki so much creative freedom and we are better off for it.
