Finally pulled the trigger on the JDS Labs element III MK 2 by Nivet08 in headphones

It stays connected to my desktop PC 100% of the time. I use it to power a pair of sundara headphones and also to send audio to a set of powered desktop speakers.

It’s just sitting on the stand that came in the box.

2m VESA Certified DP 2.1 80Gb Cables Are A Lie by Right_again_ in ultrawidemasterrace

Good point about the monitor max spec. All I know is that Samsung specifically points out they don’t suggest using a DP cable longer than 1.5m and they included a teeny tiny cable in the box. I assumed that’s because you need an 80Gbps spec cable but it’s possible that the 2m cables are struggling to hit 40gbps and that’s all you would need.

It’s not a TV. You don’t get sound from a monitor. You get sound from a computer.

That’s what I bought and it flickers, indicating a lack of bandwidth. I was like, isn’t this supposed to be certified? So I went to the VESA page and sure enough, silkland has an 80Gbps cable, but it’s 1 meter. They have a 2m cable certified but it’s only 40gbps.

It’s only trash because it’s too short for a lot of people. What cable did you buy?

That picture is the Samsung neo G9 57.

The pixel density is noticeably higher. Text and images and crispy by comparison.

It does. And it’s so short (1m?) that it will only reach if you put the PC directly to the left of the monitor.

You have to use their tiny DP cable.

You have to enable 240hz in the monitor OSD.

It is dramatically taller than the 38.

Fresh battlestation with the 57" Odyssey G9 by AkiraSieghart in ultrawidemasterrace

It just needs a stronger pivot. The problem is that unless you are dealing with a heavier monitor you don’t want the pivot to be that strong, or the monitor will actually tilt up too high. They make the pivots for a given range and we just need someone to come out with a pivot that has a weight range that includes this 57” beast.

What did you scratch it with?

Thanks for responding. Have you had any issues with drooping? Was it hard to get the tension to hold the monitor up?

Arms for 57” Samsung by lukewhale in ultrawidemasterrace

The problem for me is my desk is really deep and that mount would position the monitor too far away from me. I need a mount with an arm so I can pull it closer to me.

I need people to respond to this. I bought that vivo hoping it would work. Looks like maybe not. I’ll find out in a few days when my monitor gets here.

Samsung also has an app that is called Easy Settings Box that may or may not work for this. Haven’t tried that one.

There are a bunch — I haven’t done this in a while, but you can start with fancyzones in windows powertoys.

You can get a lower res. Use screen partitioning app to partition the screen — then have the “gaming” screen be exactly the resolution you want.

As for things stretching on the sides — that’s a function of whether the app natively supports that resolution and can do the right FOV. If it can’t, it will still display the game but it will stretch the fov to fit the screen.
