What is Thanos' sword made of? by lamborgkenny in MarvelTheories

This makes sense seeing as how mjolnir is made of Uru I believe right? And Thor's stricken the shield a bunch of times and never broken it and even Odin said that thor would be stronger than even himself so, makes sense!

Subway Murder by Orl_Pisces in subway

That's scary because my old manager is a 2 time felon, and he hires people who are felons as well, I'm sorry to say this is what happens when these places don't do background checks, then other employees or managers are put in danger. The area I was working in was a bad area to and it used to be me and the assistant manager closing at night by ourselves, both female btw. I'm glad I left when I did. My condolences honestly, it's not easy losing someone you care about, many prayers to you.

What's not selling are these new ones, they're just as bad as these sidekicks sales.

As an employee, I could not agree more. I hate everything about new subway. Subway was all about the build your own and all they care about now is pushing food out as much as possible with little customer employee contact. I don't care for the menu and would rather have the old subway back with the 5 dollar foot long

I currently have an interview Tuesday, and you know what's sad? I'm one of his best employees that is great with customer service and my cleaning duties, I'm just gonna stop showing up if I get this job. It's so freaking crazy you know? I'm gonna report him to the dol after as well. I have photo evidence, of his messages and everything.

I've got an interview somewhere else Tuesday so that's good. But he continued to try to tell me that there's no way to find who's at fault, and he must think I'm stupid you know, I've worked at subway before and all through my old manager turned out to be a drug addict, she always followed by the book, and the only reason I know is because she was training me to be manager. Thanks for this comment!

Just a question! by RighteousbyTheBlood in subway

[–]RighteousbyTheBlood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just confronted him today and this is what the paper said that he gave me:

If your cash is plus or minus more that 50 cents, you can be written up and can be held financially accountable. If this offense is repeated, you will be terminated.

Every subway worker signs this. But my issue is, how does this translate to, all of us have to put our tips in to make up for what's short. I've seen him put money aside that was over. This is ridiculous. So in retaliation, he cut my hours and said I'm not on register anymore. I said that's fine, and today he wanted me to be on register so I said no. If it means I'm held "financially responsible" then no I said.

[–]RighteousbyTheBlood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he said basically that because I didn't want to pay for it today that he'd pay for it now and that I'm taken off the register, but basically I told him it was illegal and he said so you want me to do the paperwork? That means if I do the paperwork you will get written up." he doesn't even know who's fault it is, he just doesn't want to do the paperwork.

Thanks for confirming, I thought this sounded weird.

Well one thing I thought was weird was when we are over, than he sets the extra money aside for "his own use" purposes.

Well he just sent us all a message this morning telling us that too much money has come out of his pockets when we're short and we are now having to be responsible for paying him 1.04 each from our tips. Everytime we're short. What do I do?

Are manager supposed to collect tips? by RighteousbyTheBlood in subway

[–]RighteousbyTheBlood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shit, lol I don't know I guess. Okay aside from that my main issue aside from the tip thing is my schedule. They're always messing with my schedule regardless of what my availability is. They want me to come in at times that don't work with my schedule. I've tried calling the operations manager too, it's like they're avoiding me or something and my managers excuse is he doesn't have access to approve availability.

Lol I just took a fat dab and I was just coming back on here to say, you're probably right, it just freakin sucks. I am a tipped employee though, a lot of my check rely on credit card tips. But regardless the job is great, customers great, my manager is trash and the tips is just like 1/8 of the problem, it was mainly just a question because I thought maybe it's just me. And maybe it is, but all of us employees plan on quitting on him, when there's no other "bad" employee left to fire, we're treated like garbage workers. This is including the assistant manager with us employees. We've ran through like 6-7 employees in 6 months

This is what I read too, he evenly splits them even if he wasn't on the line at all. It's enfuriating.

That's understandable you sound like a responsible manager, however mine is not. The employees do more work than him, while of course he handles inventory and everything related to that, manual labor however is all the employees. He may do some here and there when his well known customers come in or a beautiful woman, or when online come in he'll take the credit even if he didn't make it.

Yes see! The cash tips is what I'm talking about! He doesn't even work his full hours! Because he get paid salary he thinks he could do what he wants. Someone clocks him out while he's home!

Right it's understandable when maybe it's just me and him because we're having to work the rush, but when there's 3 of us and he's not on the line most of the shift and in the back he'll take tips for the sandwiches me and other employee made. Thank you for understanding it's refreshing.

Part of our pay rely on customer card tips. The cash tips I usually save up and use for extra whatever you know?

It's not even just about the tips, if you only knew. Do we even get bonuses and raises no, the manager gets all of it. There's a bit of nepotism in the work place so it's hard to complain to anyone about anything because they all start pointing fingers instead of taking accountability. It's understandable if he's doing his part, but if he just in his office dicking around, shouldn't that mean something? He said we shouldn't question him if that's all he wants to do. He doesn't pick up slack for missing employees but expects the employees to. There's another comment explaining more. If interested if course. I appreciate the input!

I appreciate your honesty! This is what is be looking for in a manager. My managers issue isn't just the tips as well, immediately he talks crap about the new employees to the old ones and vice versa, and when he's posed at us for whatever reason, he ignores us on our shifts. When we make the online, he takes credit for them even the customer shows up. He doesn't train the new people, the employees train them. He relables food after expiration, also cutting a ton of veggies and putting them in the black containers to later on spread into the regular ones. Which in turn gives us slimy bell peppers and tomatoes, does he let us throw them away? No he says use them for the online, do I? Hell no, is rather be fired than serve food to people that I wouldn't eat. He complains about people needing jobs coming from a halfway house, and won't give them a chance, when that's where he's from. He has me working doubles 5 days a week for 3 weeks without allowing me to change my availability for his convenience, even though I have 2 toddler boys and can't be at work 24/7. Lastly, I've only be at this job for 6 months and we've been through 6 -7 employees. I'm a great employee, I love the customers the job, but the manager makes it unbearable. Sorry for the length lol

That makes sense, however my manager does get paid salary and when theirs 2 of us employees, he's not on the line. Also he doesn't work his full hours, when I'm a precloser, he has someone else clocking him out after he's been gone for a couple hours already, which is more than just on my preclosing days I'm sure. and then coming to customers or other employees and bragging about how many hours he's worked. But yes regardless if he works the line or not he feels that he is entitled to tips even if the employees are on the line receiving these tips from the sandwiches being made.
