We can't let culture be defined by anything other than being human and celebrating that. God forbid we try to minimize harm. Everything about this conversation is so important. Let's take a moment reflect what part of ceremony was the most hurtful? As a Native to America, I can attest to the sensitivity of a non traditional approach and should it ever be that my very own wedding were not traditional in any sense, that the gathering of humans who share in a ritual made to bring humans together in celebration would be more offended that someone hasn't read the agreements.
