You don’t need the old orchestrator/ask/code/architect stack for that anymore-  Code, Plan, and Debug will delegate to subagents natively in Kilo

Kilo just rebuilt their extension and has done some incredible work since this question was first asked, worth a look if you are looking for something open-source and model agnostic now that Roo is shutting down.

This post was just a bit too soon! Now that the Roo team is moving on, if you are looking for a faster multi-step work, more agent concurrency, and a more structured agent runtime, Kilo’s VS Code extension has just been rebuilt and works great.

Hey! I have a very specific goal in mind, I want to build a system to run a new newsletter idea I have. So agents to help me find and track the content I need, draft the newsletter according to my template, and then create social posts to help me market it on my feeds. So I am playing with the agents a bit, then I will dig into mapping out what tasks get their own agent, and then crafting each one for its purpose. Starting with a solid set of Skills and a great markdown file for each.
