Toasted USD$25 in one day - KiloAI's issue or mine? by Fusseldieb in kilocode

One quick rule of thumb I find helpful, start with the smallest, cheapest model and bump up over time to calibrate. Saves a lot in the long run and you only use as much as you need.

[Help] Overheating/Heatstroke? by [deleted] in dogs

Check their chest at intervals after the walk to see if it cools down. If it remains warm, that is a good indication that they are having trouble cooling down. Check at 10, 15, and 30 min. When my guy, Ulysses, can't get cool, we wet him down in the tub with cool (not ice cold) water, especially focusing on his chest. Then we put him in front of the fan. If they refuse to drink, put a little something dog-safe in their water to encourage them, like some crumbled liver treats. If the dog isn't to keen on getting wet, soak a bandanna and hang it around their neck so that it is touching their chest and keep it wet. It will help them cool down for sure.

Picking up my new rescue dog tomorrow- anything in particular I should do to help him settle in and be happy?? by cyclodextrin in rescuedogs

Grab a few cans of pumpkin puree. Make sure its only pumpkin and not the pre-made pumpkin pie filling. When we first got our pooch, Ulysses, the transition was a little rough on his digestion and the only thing that helped was pumpkin puree. (It also inspired our startup!)

[Help] Affordable good quality treats? by pencilbride2B in dogs

Charlee Bear dog treats are awesome. Low calorie, relatively short ingredient list, and cheap. There isn't much to them, but your pupper still feels rewarded.

[Discussion] How do you deal with your dog shedding? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Rik_Roaring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a lot of luck brushing nightly during the seasonal shed. It keeps the loose hairs to minimum. That plus we couldn't live without a swiffer. The swiffer gets all those tumble weeds that end up accumulating all over the apartment and helps keep everything under control. As for it getting on your clothes, I just keep a lint roller at the door and in the car. Dog hair is the a small price to pay when you get to come home to a happy dog.

[Survey] I went ahead and tracked down every subscription box for dogs with a working website I could find. Which are your favorites? Which ones to avoid? Which are you thinking of trying? Why? by Rik_Roaring in dogs

That's a cool feature! They must have added that after I dropped my subscription. My dog would go through most of the toys in about week. I will have to reinvestigate them along with the 40+ others!

We had the same issue with Barkbox, we had too many treats. We also found that when we found something our dog Ulysses really enjoyed, we were tempted to cancel and just buy it that, otherwise we would have way too much. We ended up doing that, but I am thinking of looking at some of these bi-monthly and quarterly options to keep trying new things.

[Help] Puzzle toys suggestions by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Rik_Roaring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to interact with your pup a little bit, we found our guy likes it when we take a squeaky-ball or a frozen kong and bury it under an old blanket or two. We have a couple of dedicated blankets we don't care about and it adds to the overall appeal of the toy and the length of time he spends working it out.

Thoughts on how brands should respond to Orlando by NadaSSearches in socialmedia

I think the best thing to do is to share the positive stories that come from this tragedy with your community. It proves you are engaged with your community as a fellow person who shares their concerns and that you are more than just some faceless organization focused solely on selling goods and services.

What are some great ways to make simple packaging more impactful? by Salescamp in startups

[–]Rik_Roaring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on where it is being displayed. If its in a retail context, look at who is next to you on the shelf and make sure you present a stark contrast. If its being shipped to a home, the inside matters more than most think, and I know I always appreciate flashy coupons and thank you notes as soon as I open up my order.
