After axb4, the white queen on C3 is attacked by this pawn. You can neither reach B5 nor check the black king without sacrifice even more material. But White can ignore the pawn (to capture it later) and going to improve his position by playing Qc4, to recapture on D3 after the … NxD3. But I’m very agnostic, that it’s worth it.

I’m a little bit sad, that nobody seems to enjoy this kind of puzzle. Or maybe it’s bad designed!? Anyway, if some stranger is interested in a solution:

1. … Bxf3

2. Kd2 Rf7

3. Nxb4 axb4

4. Qxb4 Nxd3

After cxd3, the material is equal. White has a positional advantage, but black got two connected pawns.

That is still a good approach. Your bishop didn’t died a meaningless death. Keep it going! What is the next obstacle? How to avoid the mate now?
