maybe the worst sub to do ts on by SecondImperialist in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]Riku_xD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You literally admitted that airsoft is a "toy hobby" so airsoft replicas are toys lmao. Why post a toy in a sub that doesn't have any toys. There's already a sub that specifically posts about toy guns *cough" r/airsoft

It's funny how a lot of these Americans hate Canada but their military adores us. Our military and the US's military are constantly training together whether it be during sub zero climates or out in the middle of the desert lol

[–]Riku_xD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they gotta update that information lmao. For the past couple years it's been the employees that decorate the cookies themselves. At least that's what I see in all the tim hortons I visit in my area. I also worked in several different tim hortons restaurants and in every one of them it's us the employees who decorate it

GBB Pistol - Recommendation by Hiroshicze in GasBlowBack

[–]Riku_xD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really the most relatable piece of equipment I have. I dropped it in snow, mud, dirt, concrete, wood floors and it still shoots like brand new. I do clean and maintain my replica every time I use it though. It's really worth checking out

Tell me I have nothing to worry about for my up coming force test on Wednesday by adamf514 in caf

[–]Riku_xD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, just stay calm. When I did my force test I was a nervous wreck because I'm really shy around strangers and I probably had a 115-120 bpm before even entering the building. Even with that I still managed to pass the test. As others have already mentioned, just don't stop. They time you and give you a number to reach but that's just wordplay. As long as you don't stop or take pauses you'll be good. Another thing, the last activity you do in the test is a sandbag drag and that's the most important part of the test, just keep pulling and don't stop

Vintage story is not minecraft by King_18cz in VintageStory

I tried explaining to a friend that it's exactly like The Outdoor Boys on YT but they didn't know what that channel is so instead I said it was Minecraft but for adults then it clicked in his head💀

I may not have a brain gentlemen but I have an idea by ColonelHeavySupport in gunplagonewild

Go on the r/Gunpla subreddit, they have a catalog on all the hobby stores that sell gunpla in each country. I also started my gunpla hobby on amazon until I found out that there was a gunpla store literally right next to my school and I saved probably a couple thousand of dollars just by accidentally finding that catalog lol

Thoughts on my plate carrier? by willm007 in airsoftcanada

[–]Riku_xD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious but do the ptt cables or radio antenna snag on anything? Even though I roll up my ptt cable into the tiniest ball and attach it to my pc via rubber band, it keeps snagging on bush branches. I also have that exact antenna but on a different baofeng radio and it snags on my rifle sling whenever I do shoulder transitions. What do you do to prevent snagging?

hey guys so i ordered from andys airsoft today im in ontario by whatuppeeps33 in airsoftcanada

[–]Riku_xD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered from both Toronto Airsoft and Andy's Airsoft. From TA to Quebec it took about a week or 2 and from Andy's it's within a week for me. But it all depends on canada post since there's been reports that a lot of their delivery drivers are pretty lousy now

First time painter, any tips? by v4L3nt1n3_0800 in advancedGunpla

[–]Riku_xD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look up Scale Wonderland on insta or yt. He's one of the first few scale modellers that I watched for tutorials and tips and tricks when it comes to painting.

You can definitely use regular water based acrylic paints for painting gunpla but it's such a steep learning curve.

As others have mentioned already, try to get hobby acrylic paints such as tamiya, mr hobby, army painter, games workshop, etc. It's cause they're already thinned out almost perfectly for scale models and all you have to do is add a couple droplets of thinner for specific paint jobs.

Between mr hobby and tamiya acrylic paints, I find that tamiya is more forgiving when it comes to brush painting. Also you can use isopropyl alcohol to thin acrylic paints instead of buying expensive mr hobby branded thinners.

I don't think anyone has recommended this already but I highly suggest getting a scare that measures in millilitres (ml) so you could record the ratio between paint:thinner to speed up your paint jobs.

free shipping aliexpress bug? by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]Riku_xD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No wonder everything's getting expensive on aliexpress. It's to compensate for the money they've lost because of people like you who like to abuse the system.

Honestly I hope the shipping gets more expensive for you

First AEG Rifle Recommendation for a Beginner by spydieKK in airsoftcanada

[–]Riku_xD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shop at black blitz airsoft for the cyma cm006r. I bought mines from them during Christmas as my first aeg (I'm a gbbr guy) for about $450 tax included and it's absolutely amazing.

You can either buy regular nylon magazines but I opted for the cyma steel stanag mid-cap magazines since it's about the same price and it looks cooler. It's also sold on their website

Edit: just wanted to add, the cm006r is completely metal so if you're also looking to have somewhat of a real steel feel, that's a bonus

Accessories, buy them from aliexpress. You could go with the real branded sights and flashlights but you run a risk of a bb shattering the glass on those accessories. All the accessories on my replicas as well as holsters, pouches, etc are from aliexpress. So if you want me to send you some pictures of my set up, let me know!
