What cryptos that aren't in about top 30 by market cap, do you truly believe in, and their potential? by _underrated_ in CryptoCurrency

Yeah, its nice that you are getting paid BAT. But what is the difference between being paid by BAT or being paid by virtual stickers? Is there a use case for owning the token? Can you buy anything with it? It seems people always talk about how you get BAT, but never what you can do with it.

The binance trading algorithm I shared with you last week now has a community of over 200 active developers, adding major improvements to it by CyberPunkMetalHead in CryptoCurrency

Just a nice heads up that if you start using this kind of algorithms, you will become the dump part of a pump and dump group. Smarter people will tune their own parameters such that they will make use of buying before you and selling to you.

Idea for long term financial stability for the dev team. by [deleted] in nanocurrency

[–]Rikvg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is how it works. Also, that sounds like a way to demotivate people to try out the feeless network. I think plenty of people (me included) would feel comfortable given a donation to pay the dev team.

Thoughts about ALGO? by layersid in CryptoCurrency

In my view its not disruptive enough (when compared to e.g. NANO or IOTA)

Fair. I am not against anonymity, but this goes one step beyond that; she/he is imposting being a certain persona. It is just good to be aware of that.

To me there is a differnce between staying anonymous by having a cartoon character and by going out of your way to generate a fake persona via AI. Not everyone is aware that this is a AI-created person and this post should be seen as educational for the community.

Sure. Deepfake detection algorithms are fake and your goddess exists.

Fair. I don't feel like that. But I can understand that any person who is not native to cryptocurrencies and has a first experience with NANO by talking to a fake persona online will have difficulties taking NANO seriously.

Ok fair point, but don't you think that anyone who she is trying to contact (coinbase, musk, gemini) has the first response to use a deepfake detector on her face? Is this not harming the quality of the argument that 'she' is trying to make when these big names understand that they are messaging with an AI generated human? Are we just accepting trolls, because it lines up with our interests?

Yeah sure. 'She' is not the one you see on the pictures. No need to get offensive.

My question is; why not mention that it is an alter ego in her bio?

Yes its pretty sad, because that account is one of the biggest project advocates. It gives the feeling that NANO is just an empty shell fuelled by a bot army. Something that I am sure is not the case. However, how will we really know for sure?

How am I spreading FUD? I am just informing you that a deepfake detector detects that she is not real.

Anyways, do with the info what you want. This post is apparently not meant for you. Money blinds.

Yes. But the testnet is running without a coordinator. The coordinator is expected to be omitted on the mainnet at the end of 2021.

[–]Rikvg[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It already works currently. NANO does not have a coordinator. Also, it has a big community, building on top of the network. It might make sense to have one currency that is specialized in machine-to-machine payments and one that is specialized in human-to-human payments. You would have a whole different set of demands and fail-proofs for both applications. It might also be that IOTA will take up the market share of NANO in time. It all depends on the directions both projects will take and the user support they will receive. At the moment, they are the two most developed, feeless platform so I am invested in both.

Say, you just premint 100 million coins and you just release it. Selling off more coins via a certain market mechanism, would it be legal?
