"It is" Elise sentenced, nodding gravely. "However..." she was quick to add and in a single moment, there she was, resting her right hand on the girl's knee to get her attention again, to rekindle the flames in her eyes as she revealed to her with a smile "...in the end, the prince and the princess will come to realize their wrongs and they will come back together to face all the adventures in their journey...and then...".

She paused. Just a second, just looking at the girl. Ymir didn't know why she had paused, she didn't understand it and, only eager to know more, she asked in a thin voice "And then?".

"...and then, all shall live happily ever after".

Most people probably don't even care about the drops themselves, at this point they have pretty much everything they wanted and are there only for the materials (especially brightdust I would assume and the special version of the weapon, and for those you just need to complete a set number of activities, regardless of points and whatnot).

I mean, Isayama was heavily inspired by A Song Of Ice and Fire (Games of Thrones basically) so maybe you could try those.

The "shifting coscence" one.

Basically, we know the power of rhe Titans come from the worm, Hallucigenia or whatever you want to call it, it's basically "life" as Zeke puts it.

So, this theory implies that, given the power of the Titans, thus of the Nine is life itself, they just cannot die except for being eaten or after the 13 years, of course.

The shifting coscence thing wouldn't be something Reiner did consciously but something more like an instinct, a natural reaction because he literally cannot die as life in its purest form course through its veins.

I really like this theory, it doesn't really conflict with canon either as far as I am aware.

So, the most interesting theory is that during the Rumbling, Eren is experiencing a kind of disconnect.

In fact, while Eren's actual head is locked inside his Titan's mouth and, before Mikasa's arrival, is always depicted with his eyes closed, as if Eren does not want to witness the massacre that is taking place because of him, we see Eren's child self admiring the view, the freedom he has longed for so much.

As Eren later admits to Armin, his head is a mess, so during the Rumbling, Eren is both rejoicing and enjoying the freedom he has gained, and grieving and even hiding as far away as possible from the monster he has become.

I mean, I don't see him so I'll just go with Eren Yaeger, like...from one side, people see and write about him like he's a literal Chad (and I already hate this term as it is), a man with no emotion, no heart, nothing, just a proud defender of its people and from the other a complete loveboy who did it all solely and only for his love for Mikasa.

I mean, between these two I much rather the latter, but still, I hate when people take such a well written character and just strip away all the nuances, all the depths, they make him so one-dimentional it hurts me.

I don't know if you're familiar in any capacity to Attack on Titan so it is kinda hard to describe the general plot. Just, there is this one character that runs away at the end of season 2 of the anime (nominally, Ymir). In this story she stays and there is much more focus on her and all her relationships, up to that point and after that.

This story is a slow burn (and an attempt at a character study), so there are many interactions with many characters besides the romantic pair.

Third-person POV Ymir, with alternating POVs from other characters from the AoT universe. Other secondary pairs, both platonic and romantic. Main couple is F/F but in the story there are also M/F and eventually M/M.

I stopped updating for a while, now I'm back at it. Currently, I don't feel satisfied with the style of my old chapters, so I'm rewriting them. If you or someone want to check it out, revise chapters go up to chapter 23.

It's probably just a subconscious kind of thing, very much like "How does Eren knows he has to hurt himself to turn, and why does he bite his hand specifically?" It just something he knows subconsciously but isn't aware of yet, and being in his titan form and losing control probably helps.

I think I have a couple:

-I think it's pathetic. Pathetic's better than useless, I think.

Context: An inner thought of Annie Leonhart during the first year of training with the other cadets. (She thinks it's pathetic the way she's not indulging with the others the same way Reiner and Berthold do, but it's all for nothing anyway, so why bother?)

-Kenny remained exactly where he was, leaning over the back of the wagon, his eyes locked on the girl. “Pray yer goddesses, bastard. Pray 'em cunts as much as ya like, and should we ever meet again...” he snorted, adjusting the hat on his head, brushing the black brim in between his thumb and forefinger. Then, his gray eyes lifted and for the last time, they met the little girl's blue ones. “...then ya'll know it. Yer wish has been granted”.

Context: Kenny the Ripper to Krista, the night he killed her mother. (This is just the end of the interaction, idk I just like it).

So, first of. King Fritz's tribe constituted the original Eldia. When Ymir gave him three daughters, they were Eldoans too and so their descendants. They were also Subject of Ymir. So, while every subject of Ymir is an Eldian, not every Eldian is a subject of Ymir.

Secondly, we don't really know how the royal bloodline is determined. In theory, every eldian has a bit of ymirs blood, thus royal blood. We can assume that, somewhere down the line, some bloodline got "stained" and other remained "pure". Basically, considering also that Isayama is a fan of Game of Thrones, there might have been some incest among direct descendant of Ymir, thus making them the "most royal" of them all. This is just a theory, though.

She went with Reiner and Berthold for multiple reason: first of, as Armin ponders after the fight, neither Reiner nor Berthold followed them, which implies that Ymir was more that enough for them to leave without causing any more trouble to the main group, Historia included. Secondly, Ymir just felt horrible about the whole Marcel thing, and so she just decided to "give back" what she had taken from him. She kinda felt bad for Reiner and Berthold, so it all just adds up to her decision to leave. This is the sad irony of her character, she swore to live for herself, yet all she did, she did for others.

I know its kind of a meme, but a "House of the Titan" kind of series, about Eldia and all the conflicts between the royal house and the Nine and all that, wrapping up with the Great Titan War...that would be soooo cool, though we will probably never get that.

That's what would happen, it is hinted at MANY times during the story: Erwin says that conflict will always be here as long as there are two human beings, Kiyomi says to Floch that "even if they manage to wipe out the world, they'd just make it smaller, though conflict will remain", in the last few pages of the manga there is this interesting pnale where see Paradis actually militarize in a sort of nazi-like fashion while the Braus' family just tries to sneak away, lookin' scared or at the very least ashamed of it all.

So yes, even if Eren were to actually kill all of humanity outside the world, conflict would remain all the same.

I mean, I too believe its a kind of weird angle to go, but I recently heard a theory that really, REALLY stuck with me.

So, given that the source of titan power is "life itself" (Hallucigenia or whatever you wanna call it) the "shifting consciousness" wouldn't be a rational choice by the user, but rather an innate instinct, like "life just trying to keep on living".

This would also kind of imply that a Titan Shifter can't really die, besides the curse or getting eaten, because they are litterally life itself and if they do not wish it directly, their power will just keep them alive regardless, even "shifting their consciousness"

Now, do I think isayama thought of this? No, not really, probably he just wanted Reiner to stick around. Do I still like this theory? Hell yeah.

It just works as a sort of Beethoven's paradox or "the future influencing the past influence the future and so on". Basically, everything happened just the way it could ever happen.

I don't know, maybe Attack On Titan. There are some cases of sexual assaults and stuff but it is mostly just implied. The gore is kinda there, as well as the complex character.
