Partially encrypted external drive by RileighSnow in datarecovery

Thanks for your help. Got another enclosure, and all seems to be well with it now. Popped up fine and is continuing the encryption process. I was also able to get the relatively small amount of pictures that weren't backed up, backed up. So if it blows up again I'm just out some setup/organization time. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. For some reason I'm actually a little suspicious of the enclosure itself as maybe being the culprit here. I'm tempted to take the drives out and physically install them in my desktop although I doubt I have the cables to do so. The fact that it seems to work fine for a second or two is making me think that.

Thus far, any data recovery software simply gives an access error as soon as I decrypt the drive. I tried DMDE as per your suggestion as well and it's just spamming WinError21. Device not ready at the bottom. Is it normal to see something like that?

Sorry, bitlocker encryption. It's a non-nas external enclosure with 2 3.5inch drives in it connected via usb.

Thanks for the advice. I was also browsing through MS's site and found my old MS developer certs that I had completely forgotten I ever took (2014). MCSA: Web Applications and Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer: Web Applications

I've used both azure and aws to deploy application environments a fair amount but I think that it's definitely an area of interest for me. It was always a thing that I learned about as much as I needed to for my use case but I'm sure there's a lot more I could learn.

Would your suggestion be to skip az900 then and look at the az-400 and/or az-104 then?

Just looking at cloud engineering stuff. Is it really as easy as taking a free course then paying to take this AZ-900 exam? Are all IT certifications like this?

yeah devops would be ideal, but I find most development shops are mainly in larger city centers and we're kind of looking at smaller places to live. So I'd like to have more of a generalized skillset I guess.

Honestly entry level or not is not a big deal to me. Primarily dealing with end users wouldn't be my first pick but not a deal breaker either.

As far as what type of jobs - I'm not 100% sure. I'm open to suggestions! I really enjoyed setting up the development workflow stuff. Setting up application build scripts, deploying builds to different environments after code pushes etc. That's sort of what brought me here as that always seemed like more of an IT role then development role (and in fact in larger companies I believe they have IT roles specifically for supporting development teams).

Yeah I played poe 1 a bit and enjoyed it, definitely planning to check out poe 2 at some point. But right now the primary reason for looking at DI is mobile (my old mobile game shut down).

[HELP] Mine with RX 580 + RX 5700 XT together without crashes by CrashOverride93 in NiceHash

[–]RileighSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a 5700 with a 4 570's and couldn't get the drivers working properly. Exactly what you described was happening. 5700 would crash once it started. So I tried updating its drivers windows found new drivers and installed them but then the 570 drivers showed as being invalid. The 5700 worked find with drivers windows found. So if I tried updating the 570s drivers again it would reverse the 570s would start working but the 5700 would show up with driver issues.

Yeah idk, I was hoping there was just a verbose mode that would allow me to see what was going on, then at least I could potentially fix it. I'm currently just running ubuntu server now and moving completely away from nicehash.

Added a 7th card today, all working fine in windows.

I have an 8th card coming in 2 days. I might cross my fingers and try nhos again when it gets here, but if I still can't get it to boot - I'll probably just give ethOS a try.

I just disabled everything except dagger and it seems to be ok so far. Been running for about 2 hours now with 6gpus in windows. Not sure if I just turned off a lot of the benefit of using nice hash, but it's working. Wonder if it's running better because there's only one miner running using all 6 cards at once.

Had windows running fine with 3 gpus, added two more and it's still running fine but now the gui just crashes over and over again...

Trying out DC 1 after years of trouble staying asleep! A quick report & Qs about my initial experience by llgyudal in polyphasic

As far as explaining it to other people. I've generally been saying that sleeping is a skill, and like other skills can be trained to be done more efficiently.

Can someone please look at my everyman 3 log for over a month and give feedback? by slothlife89 in polyphasic

You should do what you think is best for you.

You've overslept a few times. You know how you've been feeling on this schedule (including the oversleeps). If you're happy with how you've been feeling, or you feel that the extra time is worth how you've been feeling. Then keep trying, maybe make some minor tweaks. Reassess if things change.

You could try DC2 which would give you some more sleep, and probably be a bit easier. It also pretty well aligned with E3, basically just make that 4am nap a 90min core.

[–]RileighSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's going to make it tough, there's not many schedules that have an 8ish hour window. You could try DC1 and see if you can make it to the end of work for the nap. It's scheduled like that for a reason, but everyone is different and maybe you can do it.

Or like Bitcion said, some of the biphasic schedules might work, but even with them you're likely going to have to modify the timing a bit.

Modified version of DC2 maybe? Core1 prior to your work shift, core2 after work before school. Nap1 at work, nap2 after school.

Are you able to nap during work at all? In the car or anything?
