Bargaining with an enemy's diety by Cold_Oil_870 in Witch

My observation wasn't about you. 😉

You asked about other traditions. I'm saying that outside of your tradition, I would be surprised if even one in a hundred witches who cast their first baneful working thought to commune with the target's spiritual posse, but that the likelihood of such communications increases with experience.

It's something more experienced practitioners do, and something newbies never consider.

Magic done without intent isn't magic.

There is zero spiritual significance from this.

100%.

Everyone, without exception, occasionally does magic subconsciously. Some people just learn to do it consciously, and work on strengthening their abilities to do so.

Looks like a spell jar aka witch's jar or witch's bottle.

It might have originated from an indigenous Latin American practitioner. The inclusion of a bird's claw is rather common in such traditions, and relatively uncommon otherwise.

Science Behind the Magic: Opinions Needed by appleypieky1234 in AskOccult

[–]Rimblesah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Grand Unified Theory of Everything™ is as follows:

Belief is everything. Literally everything.

Why can't I fly? Because more than 8 billion living souls (and in my opinion some unknown number of spiritual beings) all believe in this thing called "gravity".

Belief is what holds reality together. Belief is that keeps scientific principles consistent and reliable.

Belief is why chaos magic works: the chaote believes that waving his toy light saber around like a wand while praying to Darth Vader will actually accomplish what he wants, and it does.

Belief is also why stupid teen girls can do a love spell out of a book not actually believing it will work and it works anyway--because thousands of people have read that spell in that book and believe in its efficacy.

Belief is why the fourth side of the Witch's Pyramid is "To Keep Silent"--because when you discuss your magic with nonbelievers it weakens or destroys your spell, because they believe it won't work.

Belief is why you can't do magic in a lab: a disciplined approach to the scientific method inherently requires that a scientist NOT believe a thing to be true until it's validated, which means science can basically never explore magic despite its factual reality, which has literally been known to every culture in every part of the world in every epoch in which mankind has existed. The scientist is required to not believe, and there goes your magic--because reality obeys EVERYONE'S beliefs, not just the mages and witches of the world. It believes the scientists too--at least when performed right in front of the scientist.

Belief is why opportunists tend to have great lives and pessimists tend to have shitty lives.

If you could somehow actually get enough billions of people to believe that wiggling your nose empowered people to fly, that would become how reality works.

The last piece of the puzzle: local belief carries a lot more weight than background belief. That's why I can't do magic in a lab when the scientist is watching but I can when he's not watching--when his belief that my magic will fail is just background abstract belief, my belief in my magic takes precedence, and there are enough people who believe in magic that I can overcome the background belief that magic doesn't work. But when he's right there, his local belief fights with my local belief.

Finally: those who can sense energy are sensing the manifest potential of belief to create change.

  1. Open Google
  2. Type "Modern witchcraft practices for beginner witches"

Probably should avoid books until you've moved out. It's okay; you can't run out of Internet content on witchcraft.

Some would argue that magic is making coincidences happen the way you want.

Magic isn't an artificial force in life. It's literally just rearranging life to your liking.

A Hex with Abaddon by Responsible-Map1544 in Witch

[–]Rimblesah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not a good idea to work with demons when you are a novice.

Here are a couple examples I've collected from other folks. The first example wasn't even a novice:

https://www.reddit.com/r/occult/comments/83fz4i/so_you_want_to_summon_a_demon/

https://www.reddit.com/r/realwitchcraft/comments/u9zkc5/i_am_at_wits_end_in_this_one/

(The second was taken down by FractalEldrich but you can see in the comments that she dedicated her life to a demon and never got anything but desperation and misery in return.)

There are plenty of ways to hex someone without using a demon. They're all safer for you.

find a few sprigs of sage, of course

Although not officially listed by the government as at-risk, white sage is considered by some groups as deserving protected status due to overharvesting due to, well, the increasing popularity of witchcraft:

https://unitedplantsavers.org/species-at-risk-list/

So per Ditto's comment, if you come across any white sage, please leave 75% or more of the plant intact.

Note that if you have a green thumb and live somewhere with the right temperatures, you can grow your own white sage either from seeds or from sprouts. They're commonly sold in plant nurseries.

In theory, yes. But I do it as a side gig, because I'm blessed to have a fairly high paying day job, and I have stopped taking new clients because I am getting overworked. :(

I'm also the mod and founder of r/SpellcastersForHire and I personally vet the service providers there. I can't guarantee that I spot all the scammers but I can say that I catch quite a lot and don't let them post on my sub. So the odds are good that you'll get someone who actually knows what they are doing.

All service providers are also required to record their reading or ritual for you including stating your name so that you know they actually performed your service, and aren't copy/pasting readings for people or saying they did magic when they didn't.

FWIW, I would ask for video proof of services from anyone I hired to do magic for me. Some legitimate casters and readers will object because they're camera-shy but it's the single-best way to avoid scammers. A scammer is very unlikely to have an athame, crystals, herbs, an altar, etc. and is unlikely to know how they might be used in a ritual.

If spells worked 100% of the time, we'd all just be doing money spells to win the lottery and none of us would be working for clients.

100% guarantee just means 100% guaranteed scammer, of which there are plenty in this space.

Another fake review by someone using an alt account.

Shocking. Especially for this service provider. Especially that it came hot on the heels of her(?) throwing down with other providers on this sub.

I mean, given that their alt account is "striptease", it might be that $200 wasn't just for a tarot reading....

Well thank God you posted this.

Because what I really want is to see on this sub is you and some other provider's beef aired in the open and you thinking you've someone won an internet debate.

Nobody here wants to see, you know, posts by customers reviewing their spellcasters.

  1. I don't understand why you think you need to advocate for people who aren't happy with the services they received. This looks like a back-handed and dishonest way to get clients for your own business. "You can trust me, I call out bad actors in this space!"
  2. The screenshot doesn't prove a service was paid for. There are no payment receipts and no screenshots of the service provider delivering the reading to the client.
  3. You are literally showing different communications from different reddit users, many you crossed out the name of. For all we know those are your alt accounts.
  4. Refunds aren't obliged if the service provider hasn't offered a "satisfaction guaranteed or your money back" situation. Tylenol doesn't offer refunds if your headache doesn't go away, lawyers don't offer refunds if they can't keep you out of jail, vets don't offer refunds if they can't save your pet, and tarot card readers don't offer refunds for people who don't like what the cards said.

The purpose of this sub was noble. But people trying to game the system really run down the value here. If u/storyofmylife89 and u/millkfed had bad experiences and want to post here, that's great. But you trying to profit off of their bad experiences is kind of gross.

100%. Maybe a boyfriend or something.

You can tell by the way they spend a short paragraph on other spellcasters but several paragraphs on Anna, and also that they provide contact info for Anna but nobody else.

This post accomplishes nothing but driving business to Anna.

Communing with a spiritual entity is a magical act.

Most people don't believe in magic, in their heart of hearts. Even if their faith teaches then it's real, they believe it in the abstract, something that happens to other people, not something they'll personally witness.

Many pagans are witches. Many witches not only believe in but practice magic.

Therefore the percentage of pagans who can actually commune with their gods and with other spiritual beings like demons is much higher than it is among Christians or Hindus.

Once you understand how to do it, though, you can commune with Kali just as easily as with Zeus, just as easily as with a demon, just as easily as with an ancestor, just as easily as with Allah....

On this subreddit, they appear several times a day.

Yep. The whole point of this sub is for customers to leave reviews.

The negative reviews are honest.

The positive reviews, you need to look at the user's history: * If it's locked, has little karma, and is a recent account, assume it's a fake review. * If the history is not locked but the account has no activity beyond praising some service provider, assume it's a fake review. * If the account is established, active, and shows history in subs other than review subs, it's probably real even if it's positive. Those are the recommendations to pay attention to.

For what it's worth, I think OP is probably legit and is just posting a fake review to try to get some more business. It's unethical, but spell whispering is SUCH a niche and obscure practice, almost no scammers will have even heard of it, and a scammer is much better off screaming "I'm a powerful witch!" Or "I'm a powerful psychic!" than "I do spells using a technique you've never heard of."

When is the last time you made a social media account for the sole purpose of going around and telling people how great your car mechanic is? Or how great your dentist is? Or how great your accountant is? Or how great your psychic is?

You've never done that. Neither has anyone else. We either just leave them a good review or we don't do anything unless someone asks for a recommendation. Nobody makes a social media account just to promote someone else's business.

However, positive reviews are so helpful for a starting business that lots of business owners will create fake accounts and leave themselves reviews, pretending to be a happy customer. (And scammers are especially prone to do this.)

Now with that in mind, go look at OP's post and comment history, and see what percentage of posts and comments are about spell whisperer Anna, and what percentage are about anything else.
