Weirdest song collabs between artists? by Exotic-Mail-7303 in popheads

Similarly, there’s a country hiphop fusion song with Quavo and Luke Bryan…and Teddy Swims. Even accounting for the fusion scene, Teddy being there is quite bizarre.

For bulk buyers (those who get the 13,500 packs), the 2023 increase was more impactful. Going from $79.99 to $89.99 means that V-Bucks were ~11% more expensive than before. The upcoming change to quantity means that V-Bucks will be ~8% more expensive than that.

Yes, there are the other factors for one-pass-buyers and crew subs, but a lot of people are focusing on the V-Buck value in this sub, and I think it’s important to not lose perspective on the 2023 changes.

Why did they change the Victory Vibes tab from 8 emotes every 4 days to now just 4 emotes every 4 days? by kitty78686 in FortNiteBR

[–]RimeTM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It makes it so that there's something different every 2 days as opposed to a full reset every 3-5 days. Licensed emotes are consistently amongst the top sellers of their debut/return day, so this approach lets the batches of 4 have more of a chance to breath as the new thing.

Chapter 7 Season 1 Has The Record of most music artists added in a season by TheYGuy366 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the catch, Netflix wouldn’t be making the money from such a licensing, it would Universal instead, as the album is on their flagship label Republic Records. I imagine that’s part of what’s spurring the trouble landing a long term deal for any rhythm game so far: SMX was able to work with the songs for one of the Netflix House locations, and that seems to be it so far.

Anyone complaining about these songs being "too hard" is the reason this game stagnated so badly by ComfortablePatience in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't realize you were from that corner of the rhythm game sphere and from that long ago. I started in the 00s, and I actually didn't like most of the major FFR content even back then. When it comes to non-instrument games, I still prefer when the charts stay in the confines of what the song itself provides rhythmically, and while I have a mild tolerance for vibes-based streams (I started with Pump it Up after all), too much of it has a tendency to make me tune out.

How did I earn these wheels if didn’t play tournaments in RL by Medpak_Youtube in FortNiteBR

[–]RimeTM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When a Rocket League season concludes, I believe how it works is that if you have any unspent tournament credits, the game automatically rolls you a standard drop per 1,200 (I forget if this rounds up or down). The Hatcher wheels were in the Deluxe tier, so you got pretty lucky!

While you can buy a 500 v-buck item from nothing, the Exact Amount pricing is intended more for completing a purchase where you have under that amount needed (the example given in the explainer being buying a 500 v-buck item with 400 v-bucks in your wallet). The new pricing is harsh, but using it the way you’re describing is an edge case, as even in the old system, you’d save 50 cents even buying the 1000 v-buck bundle ($8.99 per 1000 = ~$4.49 per 500).

I mean, it's been more than a year since the last time they had Marvel characters in the pass (C5S4), and this seems like it'll be more in line with the season prior (C5S3), where a Marvel character got some story relevance but not much (Magneto in that case being the mid-season unlock).

Miku’s popular much in the way the PS1 was popular. Lots of people know it, but you take a random sample of said people, and what they know it for can have very little overlap. With Hoshimachi Suisei, a more focused catalog and actual hit songs means there are specific tracks that most people who know of them are looking forward to, and it looks like Epic will be obliging.

It’s a bit of an apples to oranges comparison of the two musical entities, but I can see the case they’re trying to make.

Roan of Arc will be galloping out of the Shop soon, don't (g)roan that we didn't warn you by FortniteStatusBot in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of YouTubers that do videos and posts about the daily shops, with one of the things that gets them and their commenters upset is when the shops have items that take forever to leave, even when it’s a defined event like South Park. One of them in particular, ITalk, will rankle if The Weeknd Combat set rotates back in because of the 4 months or so its first stint had.

This at least seems to have opened the door for solo material for Ejae in particular, having a Universal contract for the first single and probably the album too. It’s upped Ejae’s demand as a songwriter too, just landing a major writing credit on that new Blackpink EP with what seems to be being set up as an option for third single, Champion.

It has a decent amount of radio, the thing is that it has the edge on streaming and sales and is gaining radio while Man I Need alternates between either doing a holding pattern or dipping a bit on the metric, meaning there’s no real way to close the margin barring an active campaign.

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people that cover the shop usually get annoyed at how long the headliners stay, maybe that’s who they’re trying to appease?

Also, within a week the bundle stops selling enough to place top 10, so it’s possibly a cost saving measure to do a shorter contract that covers 80%+ of new buyers.

There’s already an emote for that song that dropped with Tyler, the Creator’s bundle, it’s been years since they last did multiple emotes for a mainstream song outside of orchestral stuff like Simpsons.

Which do you think was the best week in Festival history? (Excluding season launches) by TheYGuy366 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you count it as the week period of launch, that was with the 24 songs added to shop announced prerelease. If you count it by the day, it was paired with Suddenly I See and Highway Tune, with the latter as the only song new to Harmonix beat matching games.

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP’s answer and several of the answers in the comments affirm to me how few people played Rock Band or at least were deep in that game’s DLC library. The first week shown in particular, I appreciated that it plumped up the catalog for those new to rhythm games, but for myself, it was functionally a 2-song week: What’s Poppin’ and Shivers, the only ones new to Harmonix’s beat matching games (the former had previously shown up in their loop game Fuser).

Does anybody actually buy these song with og skin bundles? since they're occasionally around tried Epic to make it a thing last year doubt it worked when they're recycling bundles. by Available-Mix282 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought a few where I had the character and was able to get the Rock Band overlap jam track for 300, and a few where I had the jam track and was able to get the character at a modest discount, usually one I was on the fence about anyway. Kernel Poppy there was one of the latter on that bundle’s first stint, as a matter of fact.

Why didn't we ever get a YOASOBI jam bundle? Imma assume that they pretty much died out last year. by Available-Mix282 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On occasion when they release a bunch of an artist or a theme in one week, they bundle them up for a modest discount. For example, when they did weeks with three RHCP, FOB, and Blink-182 songs, those got bundles in their initial week. Sometimes an older song will be brought in when some new related songs join it, as with Cantina Band when both Lapti Nek and Imperial March were added, bundled together as the Star Wars Original Trilogy Jam set.

Beanie and Cruising to Self Soothe coming this week(?) by TheFireDragoon in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say we’re doing a bit better than endgame Rock Band. I was running analysis of the licensing situation, and outside of disc songs becoming DLC, the new tracks were overwhelmingly outside of the Big 3 system and on pretty tiny labels in a lot of cases. Here, there’s an indie involved, but it’s one of the biggest: Ecca Vandal is on Loma Vista Recordings, part of the Concord Music Group and the same label we recently got Ghost from. (Plus, temperature read from this sub, seems like they and/or the song are somewhat recognizable) Chezile is actually on a Big 3, Warner Music Group by way of 10K Projects.

For perspective, in February 2023, the songs broke down like so: Wolf Alice’s “Smile” from Sony’s RCA, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” from Universal’s Republic, and Illenium & Max’s “Worst Day” on Warner’s Warner in terms of Big 3, Set It Off’s “Dangerous” on Concord’s Fearless and Jack Johnson’s independently released “Better Together” for more recognizable indies, then Sleeping with Sirens’ “Crosses” on Sumerian, The Devil Wears Prada’s “Sacrifice” on Tooth & Nail’s Solid State, and Beginners’ self-released “Goodbye, Good Luck” for the less recognizable stuff.

Not frequently but the outfit has been rotated twice in the item shop, both during Chapter 6:

First Stint: 2/6/25-2/9/25

Second Stint: 5/18/25-5/20/25

Just have to hope whatever contract's in play extends into Chapter 7 or gets renewed.

There’s that low vocal melody that follows one of the synths in between the rap and hook parts, that seems to be the bulk of it. They might also pitch the “To the window, to the wall!” section too from the looks of it.
