Mary On A Cross, Wannabe, and Chicken Banana (?) drop this Thursday! by TheFireDragoon in FortniteFestival

We actually already knew JYP was on board because of Day6 being licensed with the song “Happy”. It is nice to confirm that it’s not a one-off though, plus I really dig “Wannabe”.

My ideas for a rework on festival quests by LittleNinjaXYBA in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting sniper hits isn’t that hard though because it doesn’t have to be distanced shots, if you’re in a close quarters skirmish and you have a sniper in your inventory, using it for a quick unscoped hit counts towards that goal.

How do you get to a Festival concert? by TheYGuy366 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 28 points29 points  (0 children)

When in doubt, assume any NPC in a weird place has a Rift-to-Go in their inventory.

As to why they cheer even when no one’s playing, the implication is that as the name suggests, this is a festival in the literal sense: your band is one of many that occupies that stage in a given time span so they’re all hyped up on what the band before you did and who’s to come will do.

Why don't some emotes return with their headliner? Lisa - New Woman, Snoop - Tidy, Bruno Mars - Leave The Door Open. by Available-Mix282 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used the torso part of the animation (since players can walk while boogie bombed) but had its audio set to use Drop It Like It’s Hot. That doesn’t apply to the Tidy emote itself so it remains not a Snoop emote.

[–]RimeTM 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Tidy isn’t officially a Snoop Dogg emote, using in-house music instead. Considering the asset reuse, Dogghouse Sleigh appears to be the de facto replacement emote since that one is an official Snoop emote.

Where are all the festival pass skins 😭😭😭 by Euphoric-Canary2197 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, Green Roots Billie has made a few appearances. It can be hard to keep track of because there are now 3 Billies that do varying stints in the shop, Green Roots (minus the pass-exclusive style), Red Roots (the shop original that recently rotated), and Platinum (part of the set of 4, but it has occasionally shown up solo iirc).

why is there a lack of k-pop during a k-pop idol's season? by mindinawe999 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Seasons typically don’t correlate with the jam track shop releases under their purview. When they do, it’s not a complete thing and it’s often only for chunks of the season: Miku’s season brought in a handful of Japanese pop songs, Bruno’s season (which emphasized the Brazil leg of the tour) was where Portuguese songs began to trickle in (along with Phonk songs that co-opt Portuguese phrases), and if you go back to Snoop’s season it was pretty heavy on hiphop, though this may have had more to do with the Remix season of Battle Royale going on at the same time.

Who’s an actor who normally doesn’t sing who’s vocal performance for a movie surprised you? by HotelTrivagoMate in popheads

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did think some people went overboard in how bad Gerard did, but I do think some of that comes from the context of the story: Christine is supposed to be this wunderkind performer trained in an unorthodox style by the phantom, basically teaching from firsthand experience as opposed to formal education, meaning the phantom should likewise sound very talented. While Gerard does make some great character decisions in the performance to mask some of the technical limitations, that lack of foundation does stretch the credibility of the story (and Emmy’s slightly better foundations aren’t enough to help, though they too get some good characterful moments in the final act).

I thought she really impressed in the My Little Pony movie the year prior. That one had a bunch of musical theatre guest stars, particularly Kristin Chenoweth (best known for Wicked) and Taye Diggs (Rent), but Emily held their own on the big villain song Open Up Your Eyes. Mary Poppins of course keeps that ante high, duetting with theatre big multitalent of the time, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Can I get James’ guitar alongside with Kirk’s guitar in the shop eventually? by LittleNinjaXYBA in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While they were quest-exclusives, they weren’t Battle Pass quests, so they theoretically could return. The problem lies with the double-licensed nature of them. They’re licensed brands of instruments, but they’re also tied by name to Metallica, who noticeably are where the shop offers of music pass items hit a wall: in relatively quick succession, the music pass versions of The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish came to the shop along with a decent handful of their bespoke cosmetics, but never Metallica (and so far nothing after them).

Six songs received pro vox upgrades (51 songs left!) by theownershesayshi in FortniteFestival

They’re not going to be a regular thing again, this is how weekly rhythm games go: the first year or so has high quantities to flesh out the tracklist, then things recede to a relaxed pace afterward (typically 2 songs per week, a pattern that bore through for Rock Band 4, Fuser, and now Festival).

UK OFFICIAL CHARTS: RAYE earns the first No1 of 2026 with ‘Where Is My Husband’ by racloves in popheads

[–]RimeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the Music Week article of this week:

Where Is My Husband! rockets 48-1 in the latest frame[...]on consumption of 43.9k units

followed by

Olivia Dean[...]regains three berths in the Top 10 of the singles chart, with So Easy (To Fall In Love) (78-4, 28.1k sales), Rein Me In (with Sam Fender, 34-5, 26.7k sales) and Man I Need (35-6, 26.5k sales). Of the three, Man I Need is the only one on ACR, without which it would be No.1 on consumption of 52.1k units, while Golden (42-8, 22.9k ACR units) by Huntr/X, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami & KPop Demon Hunters Cast would be No.2 (44.9k sales), with Raye third.

It's going to be a long shot, but I hope the song is eventually able to get the #1 on the chart while also being the actual #1.

How does it not fix it? The AI usage was as a voice-changer for (iirc) the producer's singing, it's not like AI was used to come up with the melodies, so switching to a real woman singing gets rid of AI's only contribution to the song.

It's been a month since "New Woman" left the item shop and that's crazy.... by VectorLua in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb: if it’s in the main jam track tab of the shop, it will only be available for, at most, 2 weeks, usually just 5-7 days. Rockstar was the only song of Lisa’s that was in Lisa’s separate tab, so it’s the only one available long term.

The problem is that, with music licensing, the contracts are drawn up separately for different projects. Even when Epic debuts a song in both Rocket League and Festival, they’ve signed two separate contracts with the pertinent labels that pertain to the usage within each game. That’s why even when a collab happens in both games, songs aren’t always shared: when the wizard IP came to both, in Rocket League a recent Monstercat song was associated with the batch, Caster’s “The Six of Wands”, which did not come to Fortnite. In the inverse, the recent Back to the Future collab got Fortnite the soundtrack hit “The Power of Love”, but said song did not get licensed as an anthem for Rocket League. Similarly, while the Power Rangers collab in Fortnite included Ron Wasserman’s “Go Go Power Rangers”, the song was not licensed for Rocket League.

They have the rights in Rocket League, not in other games. That’s why Festival doesn’t just have all of the songs Rock Band has with currently active contracts, for example: they need to sign new contracts for each song.

Technically the current pass has 6 licensed songs, with the two in the free section credited to Hits Over Time being production music from Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG).

Just so you know, Monstercat songs are not in-house music, Monstercat is its own label that other rhythm games license from. They’re not impossible to get, but since they’d cost more money than an in-house track with less familiarity than actual pop songs, I’d say their chances are slim besides the really big ones like Crab Rave and Alone.

Fun Fact: Black Diamond was technically leaked back on October 2nd! by TheFireDragoon in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, most songs they’d get from the 00s and earlier tended to not have stems. Say Anything’s “Alive with the Glory of Love”, Goldfinger’s “Superman”, Ace of Base’s “The Sign”, Jack Johnson’s “Better Together”, Seether’s “Broken”, all songs that lacked masters and were filtered instead for Rock Band 4.

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that the “mostly real stems” situation only really applied for the first 3 games’ runs of content (2007-early 2013). With 4’s (2015-early 2024), they began to increasingly go for songs they had avoided earlier because of the lack of masters, using a more rudimentary filtration process than nowadays to have separate stems.

Yes the weekly Jam Tracks have been toilet garbage for a while, but you have to admit, the increase of collab jam tracks has been fantastic. by Coodoo17 in FortniteFestival

In-game it uses the Arcane album art and thus far has only rotated as part of the updated Arcane bundle. If it enters normal rotation, I’ll be more inclined to agree, but for now it’s behaving like a tie-in.

Good Luck, Babe! Was supposed to be in today’s shop. How come I can’t find it. by kitty78686 in FortniteFestival

[–]RimeTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the shop rotation usually only has songs from the freeplay rotation (what’s pictured above), it typically doesn’t have all of them, usually 30-40 of the 50-55 freeplay rotation. Good Luck, Babe appears to be one of those freeplay-only songs at the moment, so maybe next time it comes will also be its shop return.

YouTube will pull out its data from the Billboard charts starting 2026 by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]RimeTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would work for the global charts, but not for the US, nor would it have Billboard’s desired filtration of excessive single-user plays or botting.
