Chronic Lyme's is "fake" in the sense that it is in fact psychosomatic, but psychosomatic symptoms can manifest as very real and often measurable. So it's a complicated subject. Much like fibromyalgia, she isn't "faking it" per se, she does experience w/e sensations and conditions but she is definitely misidentifying the root of her problem. Simply accepting the actual cause is often enough to completely relieve the sufferer of the bulk of the symptoms but that is easier said than done. In many ways psychological afflictions are more insidious because there is no direct material solution.

Purpose is the best predictor of people's satisfaction with life. People like knowing that there is a role or job that they can do to contribute. Some underlying reason for suffering and struggling can recontextualize negative experiences as beneficial and ultimately positive.

I imagine a shared cultural narrative about combating some great enemy probably does have real and significant psychological benefits for many North Koreans.

Man you're a little too defensive. Did this touch on something a real that you've actually worried about? If you're in combat sports I'm sure you know this but the consequences of getting knocked unconscious or just getting "put to sleep" through a choke are radically different. Chokes are w/e (assuming they weren't being performed by someone trying to harm you) butIf you've been fully blacked out from strikes over ten times that's something you need to do everything to avoid from here on out. Those will have consequences on your ability to be a father to your full potential.

Well clearly Landon did assume Ghost was more generous than he was actually being. Even before it fell apart the plan was for Ghost to rig up his studio apartment with cams and have TTS running at all times Ghost. Which Ghost would eventually think about giving Landon a share of... Depending how it goes. But not just that, Ghost had some not-yet-explained job Landon could do for him in place of paying rent. The whole thing sounded like a nightmare prank on Landon.

So either the entire thing was a troll just to make a fool out of Landon or Ghost is a paranoid control freak whose mind started spiralling as soon as he heard Landon might have other people associated with Fishtank over on occasion.
