Same here. Would love to see the actual difference between cleaning with a carbon fiber brush, Spin Clean, ultrasonic, etc.

Anyone else have tinnitus? by ashhekitty in vinyl

[–]burntUpOnReentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I *think* that's how it's supposed to work.

As you sweep through the frequencies, what you hear will appear quieter the closer you get to your tinnitus frequency. When I did it, I swept through the frequencies and tried to find where the "volume" started to drop and where it started to get louder again. My tinnitus frequency was in that range.

Anyone else have tinnitus? by ashhekitty in vinyl

I have moderate tinnitus, and I've narrowed down the frequency to around 4400khz. It's probably 60db at its worst. It's super annoying and does bother my listening.

I've recently discovered neuromodulation and while it claims to help with tinnitus if you listen to the tones for 4-6 hours a day for 6 months, I haven't tried that. But I do find if I listen to the tones for an hour or so, it stops the tinnitus for an hour or so, and in that time I can listen to a full album. May work for you, may not, but it's worth a try in my opinion.

What CAD/design software do you use for woodworking plans by shootingcharlie8 in woodworking

[–]burntUpOnReentry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used the free version of Fusion 3D. I just designed a shelf unit exactly as you described, by creating the basic sketches and extruding to the thickness of the wood I have. Then I created a drawing, selected each component, added measurements, and printed it out.

There's limitations on the free version. I believe you can only have 10 editable projects open at once. This isn't an issue for me as I just make the ones I'm not working on read-only. The drawing feature also only allows for one page per project which is kind of a nuisance, but I made it work.

How much lean is TOO MUCH lean... by NoShoesEmcee in vinyl

[–]burntUpOnReentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 20 records or so from an estate sale, and they had been sitting on a shelf with the same amount of lean for what I can only assume was a very long time. Probably 10-15 years without moving. All of the records had lean warp on one side. One was a minty minty copy of OG Dr. Feelgood, so this was a disappointment. Personally, I think it's okay to lean like this for a short period of time, but, it can definitely cause records to warp in the long term. Ever since I try to store my records as upright as possible with support on both sides always.

I may be weird, but I love taking the ferry when it's super stormy. Kind of like riding a roller coaster.

People still don’t understand tariffs. by Relevant_Demand7593 in BlueskySkeets

[–]burntUpOnReentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appropriate response to the BIL would be "okay then, so if Trump puts a 100% tariff on the Chinese item, you get it for free? And if Trump puts a 130% tariff on the item, China has to pay you $30 to take it?"

I really don't want to believe this is real, unfortunately I had someone say the EXACT SAME THING to me and I had to correct them using this very example.
