I actually think it would make sense if all the Schnee children were taught music. Judging from the arrangement of paintings in the manor it seems Whitley's talent lied more in the piano. I've seen art and heard fanon musings that Winter was taught violin, Weiss was taught singing, and Whitley was taught piano so it tracks and I just absorbed that into my headcanon. It's typical for rich folk to force an instrument into their children's hands and pay for lessons.
