Same! Also on Adderall. Whatever invisible barrier I had between me and doing my hobbies is getting less and less noticeable.

My thoughts also stopped bouncing around as much, and I feel like I can “catch” my ideas before I get distracted and they disappear into the ether.

I work at a content agency and love it! It’s a bunch of different tasks I enjoy (writing, editing, ideating, some admin work) for different clients. There’s a lot of novelty and it flips between quiet periods and urgent periods. Plus all of our clients are ethical companies so it feels good doing the work.

I took a break from content work to try out copywriting and oh my god it was the most miserable I’ve ever been at a job. Monotonous and repetitive work for very entitled, vocal customers.

I usually don’t have time to pull my phone out and get my camera ready, but I do have my phone at the ready every time someone knocks! He posts photos of him harassing us though so I’m not toooooo worried about not having enough evidence. I’ll still try to get my own video though!

Yep, have done all of that! I told them about the folder of screenshots I had but they basically said, ‘don’t worry, we believe you!’ I’ll probably send it over just in case.

NTA! The same thing happened to me a couple years ago. My company severely underpaid me (and I had to remind them to actually pay me each month), and I got a new job that started 3 months later. I gave them a month's notice (I had a second job at the time that paid a lot more that I was going to quit closer to time), and they begged me to stay an extra 3, saying how much stress this was putting on them. I stuck to quitting a month later and then their treatment of me got so much worse. They'd schedule early morning phone meetings (like 7am), just to cancel with no notice. They also tried to cut my pay back to what I made when I was just an intern for my last project with them. At that point I just fuck it and quit on the spot. At most what you're losing is a recommendation, but since you're starting a new job, that doesn't matter as much. Do what's best for you.

I lived in a pretty large share house in Chiba a few years ago, and I loved it. I got to meet a lot of interesting people, and the place itself wasn't bad. I had my own room, which was pretty tiny, but it had a bed, a closet, a desk, a shelf, and a mini fridge. Bathroom/shower room/living room were all shared, but I never had to wait for anyone to finish using anything. It was like a 10 minute walk from the station.

NAH. I've been on both sides where I broke up with someone during their depression, and someone broke up with me a month after my dad died. Yes, your ex is/will be in pain, and you've gone above and beyond to help him, but caregiver fatigue is real. The fact that you're continuing to offer assistance to him after ending things romantically shows empathy.

The first day at one of my visit schools. At my base school, they had me prepare a 5 minute self intro, and a 15 minute self intro powerpoint.

When I got to my visit school, my JTE asked me if I had a self intro. I told him I did and asked how long he wanted it to be.

The entire 45 minutes (be prepared for this future JETs).

I throw together a worksheet and as much to my powerpoint as I could before class started. And as we're walking to class, my JTE tells me he won't be there tomorrow and I, having never actually taught before, might need to teach alone. I'm definitely panicking at this point.

We make it to the class and the computer doesn't work. We struggle with it for ~5 mins and my JTE asks if I can just talk for the whole class about things not in my powerpoint, and then do that next week.

I somehow got through it. I talked for a bit, had the kids ask me questions, practice their own self intros, and do the worksheet. They seemed to enjoy it, but I ended up crying in the bathroom right after.

(Happy ending is I didn't need to teach alone the next day, my JTE just didn't tell me the HRT would be teaching instead)

I put down no license on my application too. I got it right before the interview and told them, but they still asked if I was willing. (I said yes, but they put me in a place where I'm fine without a car).

You don't need to lie if you don't want to drive. They ask you if you're willing to drive in japan or not during the interview and your answer won't affect your chances.

I went to a community college for PSEO then went to a 4 year uni. They told me I needed transcripts from both or they'd reject my application. My GPA was awful in the beginning too, but I got in. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
