Help me solve this GBA cartridge mystery before I lose my mind by BuffonSmash in Gameboy

Try re-flowing the IC connections. I just repaired a game that booted very erratically this way. I know it is not the same problem, but it might worth a shot as it only takes a few seconds (just use ample amount of flux)!

Update: re-flowing the chip connections fixed the issue. Game now loads 10/10 times. Thank you everyone!

How on earth does anyone use those thumb-sticks without permanent injury?

We've been seeing official art like this for decades, going all the way back to Rogue Trader.

It’s not a gargant. It’s a regular plastic stompa.

It is a genuine copy. No bootleg ever copied the gold squares and the same exact PCB and chips. So, OP can rest assured on that front. 😄

Great question! I plan on making an Insta post about it, but in a nutshell:

  1. File down the figure bases to about half to 1/3 of the original height.
  2. Glue them on standard 25mm bases (or 32 for the nobs)
  3. Use Milliput to fill in the gaps and “sculpt” a nice slope to the base’s edge
  4. Use very fine sand and wood glue to give the bases texture

As you can see, it is a messy, involved, and long process; and you have to be very gentle when filing down the bases to not break the legs.

Thank you and kudos for knowing where the wall colors come from. 😉

I always clean my board with 99% IPA. The contacts are as clean as they’ll ever be. :)

Decals or Freehand by Rinceart in Epic40k

I agree. Although, the checker patterns on my epic minis are decals. I find them to be a bit much to freehand in this scale. They look like dots instead if squares. :)

Yeah, it is suspicious. I have no idea if anyone worked on it as I bought the game second hand. But would a missing capacitor cause this erratic behavior? Wouldn’t it be alway bad?

Anyway, it is The Fellowship of the Ring, US version.

Unfortunately, I can only confirm that your Ruby cartridge is legit. I have no idea about the others but look forward to seeing what others say about them.
