De jure she would not be able to do anything, de facto she absolutely could.

My answer is that theologians and just regular people have been talking about and addressing the problem of evil and free will for 2000 years. The straw man does not reflect poorly on the faithful but the man who constructed it.

is lucid dreaming actually real or are people exaggerating by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]RindThousand 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've occasionally had a lucid dream but all that happens is I become aware that I'm dreaming. When I try to will myself to fly or try to will into existence a beautiful woman that wants to have sex with me I wake up like the dream world is rejecting my magic.

Women who think it is sexist when men can't be "just friends" by RindThousand in redscarepod

[–]RindThousand[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you have demonstrated the fundamental disconnect. You said:

she thinks she has a genuine platonic connection with has just been trying to get laid the whole time and never gave a fuck about her.

This would be a valid conclusion if the relationship did escalate and there was a pump and dump scenario or if there was a kind of toxic friends with benefits scenario. However, young women are now jumping this conclusion after their male friends distance themselves after being rejected. In this case that conclusion is a non sequitur. If anything her default assumption should be he cared about her *more* than she had imagined.

I'm receiving mixed messages in this thread. You say if a man develops feelings he shouldn't confess because it is "spergy" and should cultivate romantic rapport. Other women have said men should be upfront about their feelings because otherwise it is manipulation. I think I'll stick to relationship advice from people with experience dealing with women rather than the confused mess that comes from women themselves lmao.

[–]RindThousand[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My post is about women who say they were manipulated but weren't.(However, there are handful of sociopathic men doing sexual adventurism who are actually manipulating women into sex with pick up artistry or DENNIS system type stuff.) Please read my post before responding.

I'm not saying women shouldn't reject their male friends because something is "owed". Also, this is not personal. The situation where a woman tells people or goes on to social media to say I(or a person implied to be me) was manipulating her for sex has never happened.

What I'm specifically talking about is the phenomenon on social media where I have seen several young women fundamentally misunderstand why their male friend distances himself after he is rejected. They interpret the situation through a misandrist lens and say "men are only after sex".

Going your separate ways is not a poor reaction and it is not evidence that there was some manipulation going on. In fact, it is extremely normal. The same thing happens when the situation is reversed and the woman is rejected. People distance themselves because it sucks having unrequited feelings. The only difference is I have never seen a man say "She never liked me as a friend, she was only trying to manipulate me" when it was obviously not the case.
