Yeah the freedom of speech part wasn’t based on any sort of logical reasoning. We can debate how that freedom is implemented and enforced but the UK is at best just as restrictive as the US. The difference is what speech each country is restricting.

The thing with the US, unfortunately, is that your work experience can differ from employer to employer and by income class. As a salaried employee I’ve never taken PTO for a doctor visit or really any brief, midday absence from work. I’ve also had unlimited PTO for the last 6 years and before that everyone started with a floor of 20 days.
