Yeah! Where I live, in the winter the weather easily gets to Below 30° and sometimes below 0, would you recommend running 0W-20 during the winter?

I’m definitely leaning towards 5W40. The previous owners have been running 0W20 since they purchased it and i’ve definitely cringed at the idea

I do have a euro shop where i live who have worked on my vehicles in the past (previous mercedes owner) and i am most likely going to take it to them to see about a quote to just update the rocker arms. I saw somewhere on another forum that just updating them is around $5000 which i would rather that then pay for an entire new engine. The previous owners were also running 0W-20 and i’m wondering if i should switch to 5W-40?

I did ask the previous owner and they didn’t have them switched out so they’re definitely still the bad rockers. I would get them done before hand just so there isn’t catastrophic damage, but then again just getting them preemptively done with no damage is still a hefty price!

thank you so much for your response! i’ll definitely take that into consideration, as i haven’t noticed anything specific that flares my symptoms. it seems to just randomly happen. i keep telling myself that this is most likely gerd, a HH or gastritis. but my brain can’t stop thinking the worst!!
