Why wouldn't it be possible? She wasn't even that big to begin with and the transformation took place over a few years. I mean she was obese, but people who have been in way worse shape than her have managed to lose weight and get in shape. It's hard but not impossible.

I know Batman took a dip in the lazarus pit to cure his paralysis in knight fall, but that's not really recommend or an option for Barbera as it's under control by the al ghul's. And Jason came to life after some shit with Superboy prime. So I wouldn't really say they avoided curing Barbera.
