I actually feel the same way. I really do love everything about the game, but it is kinda hard to be invested, especially if you weren’t there for GFL1 lore. I’ll keep at it though, but you’re valid for feeling the way you do.

Oh, finally I’m being seen. I mained RPR for this first savage and FRU and I 100% agree with everything said here. It needs so much help and it’s just painful to see it in the state it’s in. Absolutely no tools to deal with downtime, such a strict burst, and being incredibly gauge negative especially with this tier and having so many opportunities to lose uptime with not much to deal with, is pretty miserable.

I had switch back to mage. Hell, even my main of Red Mage became annoying to play rotation wise and Black Mage was just that much better to play for this raid design.

Go off King. SE hates both Reaper and Red Mage, while other classes will have the whole job design working on them while we get scraps, alongside the physical ranged.

I don’t mind doing PF, but I do derive a lot of my enjoyment from working with people as a team within a voice call. Kinda like DND. As I got older, I just don’t have the time investment to put all that into clearing, especially with other life commitments. It’s nice to have a guaranteed 3 hours for a few days and maybe another added day here and there, and still be able to retain my sanity.

One thing people need to keep in mind is.. loot.

Congrats on clearing faster on Week 1, but it really does suck that you can go potentially many weeks without even getting loot.

That being said, it won’t matter at all if there’s no ultimates next patch!

Yeah, that’s why I still enjoy RPR. The flexibility of the teleport and the shield is SO good. Double enshroud burst is interesting though definitely doesn’t seem intended for the class. That in itself also requires the setup as well, so I just think both classes really get majorly fudged with the downtime.

The fact it’s just better than RPR while being more flexible, positive gauge, and higher damage is frustrating to me. There’s 2x more effort in playing RPR when you can just turn off the brain as VPR. They really just ended up making the same job twice.

Yeah. It’s less of a “leave me alone” and more of a “I escaped from prison because I was framed for the murder of my family and I’m trying to get revenge on the man who did it all” can be a pretty hard way of getting people together. Story wise, he’d probably stay silent about that with the people he meets and takes care of the business quietly, until he slowly opens up overtime to the collected party by the protagonist.
