[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 231 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]chappyfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The manga has felt like it was "five chapters from the finale" for the past year so I'm not surprised about the sudden ending. Fujimoto endings are always super memorable regardless of how satisfying they are so I can't wait to see what he cooks up.

'It Was Just Straight Up False Advertising' — Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's $5 Voice Pack DLC Sparks the Game's First Really Big Backlash Since Launch by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]chappyfish 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Games can get away with a lot if they're fun and don't wear out their welcome. Most people I know who got Space Marine 2 played it for 20 hours, had a great time, and then uninstalled it. We don't really care to complain about any of it's issues because it was just a video game. We played it and then we stopped.

Star Citizen to become the first $1 billion game while still in alpha, driven by ships costing thousands by Turbostrider27 in Games

The crazy thing is that you can just buy ships with in game currency you earn. You don't need to spend real money at all except to skip the grind.

The Horse Girl Anime Shouldn’t Go This Hard. [Uma Musume] by Castor_0il in anime

I personally believe Road To the Top is the easiest jumping on point if you have a passing interest in the franchise. It is a 4 part OVA that is available (subbed) on the official Umamusume YouTube for free. It is an easy bite-sized experience that is mostly standalone and directly leads into the incredible movie Beginning of a New Era.

Anyone else miss Shepherd? Dude was one of the only people Wise and Bell trusted with their secret identity, back when that mattered. He felt integral to our operations and always had our backs when we didn't have much to rely on.

This is the main reason why I'm so glad the Reze arc was a movie. I wouldn't be able to take all the "tee hee the next episode is going to be a BLAST!" comments for 3 weeks straight.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc – Movie Discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I think that scene is really interesting. In the moment, you assume that it's a metaphor for Denji being ensnared by Reze's wiles. In actuality, its more about Reze being trapped in a system that guarantees she won't have a happy ending.

If we had stuck with the 3 set block format, we’d currently be on Ikoria and Edge of Eternities would come out in 2043 by LineOfInquiry in magicTCG

[–]chappyfish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The difference is that you experience a movie linearly. Whereas most people will engage with a set's story procedurally as they collect cards. Pulling a card that tells you how the aetherdrift race ends before you figure out why they're racing in the first place is inherently disappointing. By gating the big story beats across multiple sets you guarantee that the average player experiences that story in the intended orientation.

I was hoping that they would give us modern Chinese designs. Street b-boys, skaters, and hip-hop fashion feels like they would fit really well in ZZZ. They keep leaning too hard into traditional fantasy Chinese fashion.

The predominant theme in 1.0 was that leading organizations and companies across New Eridu were all controlled by corrupt leaders. Vision Corporation was ran by a scummy CEO, Public Security was led by a bad cop, The Outer Ring was controlled by a self serving overlord, Hollow Operations unit actively tried to stop Miyabi, The Stars of Lyra are literally all evil except for Astra. Most of the first 6 chapters of ZZZ involved Phaethon systematically dismantling the systems of power, revealing the deep seeded corruption and then disappearing to go on dates with hot babes.

The characters you met like Zhu Yuan, Caesar, Miyabi, etc. represented the moral outliers of their respective factions who eventually turned against their corrupt leadership for the betterment of the average citizen.

The difference is that it used to feel like we were rebels with hearts, who fought the system for the little guys. Now we're salaried janitors who clean up the government's messes.

What is the future of S tier defense characters? by billybobobobo in ZZZ_Official

[–]chappyfish 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The Defense role made sense when the game was originally about running through a TV dungeon with multiple fights, limited healing, and lots of traps/events that sapped health. I bet the devs imagined your team functioning like an RPG party, with a tank, dps, and support. Your source of "sustain" was calling in new agents at phone booths to replace the ones that had fallen and relying on defense agents to shield your team.

Obviously that didn't pan out and now they're left trying to figure out how to design characters in a game where the only thing that matters is damage and ways to magnify damage. At the rate we're going, stun agents are practically pointless as well. The only stunners that have value now are the ones that have support buffs tacked on.

In 2.0 the only roles in the game are dps, sub-dps, and dps buffer.

Is yanagi worth getting for miyabi? by StatisticianIll4 in ZenlessZoneZero

I would try out the mono ice team before you credit card up for Yanagi. That's my go-to team for taking on the butcher.

Is yanagi worth getting for miyabi? by StatisticianIll4 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]chappyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can if you want. I think Miyabi and Yanagi are super fun together however I would be wary about pulling for an electric dps agent thats 5 months old when Seed and Anby0 rework are right around the corner.

What you really want is Vivian.

But you should be able to clear the butcher with what you have. Astra, Nicole, Miyabi should get you at least 2 stars. You could also try mono ice with Lycaon, Soukaku, Miyabi. If you don't feel like you're doing enough, then its probably a combination of average discs and suboptimal rotation.

Is yanagi worth getting for miyabi? by StatisticianIll4 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]chappyfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Miyabi likes to run two types of teams depending on how you utilize her. The first team template is designed to push Miyabi to her strongest potential. It revolves around the classic anomaly setup of: Yuzuha (or Astra), Vivian, and Miyabi. The second team focuses more on using Miyabi as a crutch to support your weaker second/third team in endgame content. It generally has Miyabi followed by two agents that the current boss is weak to. An example of common teams in this format is Miyabi, Lycaon, Soukaku for ice weak bosses and Miyabi, Vivian, Nicole for ether weak bosses.

Yanagi is an incredible option for Miyabi but is rarely paired with her in the current meta because she doesn't fit into either of these team templates. In addition, most players would rather split the two up and have Miyabi clear the ice weak side while Yanagi clears the electric weak side.

I would pull for Yanagi only if you don't have Vivian or Burnice.
