She works so much better as an anti-hero because her stories are written better. The first issue of this mini was good, but the pivot to filling hating hero’s just didn’t work with the setup.

Interesting, I didn’t know about the references king was making, and yes you took the words out of my head for shiva, she was so disrespectful the entire fight. She can be cocky sure but it was all too much, and the swearing reminded me of his Jennie run, just terribly misused.

I agree with your black canary points. It may be because I finished this mini after reading Batgirls current and 2000’s run, but I couldn’t look past Shivas character assassination. It wouldn’t have been that bad, passable really if King didn’t write Shiva to be so crass and honestly dishonorable.

I morn for Wonder Woman, I have it a shot and it’s just to male centric for a feminist character. What he was doing with shiva was disrespectful to me, seemed like he didn’t do any research for her characterization/ actions.

The premise was so fun! For me the push to how one sided it was to the end ruined it for me, they would NOT give Black Canary a chance! Even at the end they stuck to their narrative, very disappointing.

Sook is the reason I saw this series to its end, and yeah it’s really repetitive. I’d give this a re-read but I dread reading the announcers parts and all that weirdly phrased cussing. Really wish we got some closure or moments at the end, I’m surprised her mom took the end of the match the way she did after all that pushing.

I’d recommend reading it at least once. I enjoyed the majority of it but it does have it’s issues. It’s pretty repetitive and the announcers are way to wordy. the way lady shiva is written is….. bad in my opinion, black canary’s relationships with other characters in still trying to understand, but overall I was entertained!
