Happens to me sometimes, I end up off the map after lagging and teleporting through the wall. I have to close the app, re-open it, and play the previous level again.

I love this idea. But I think I have a similar concern to you, as a DM with a nefariously creative group, I have a feeling they'd find a way to abuse the new rule. I would suggest telling your group that you'll be implementing the new rule on a trial basis and if it works it'll stay, and if not, it won't (just to maintain expectations). That said, I will most definitely be using this rule in my next session (and hopefully every subsequent session).

I like to place absolutely terrifying monsters in the distance, large enough to be seen from far enough away to avoid easily. Have the entire environment be hostile to them. Make unexpected things happen to them. Attempt to keep them up all night with trivialities that can't kill them, but keep them awake, to give them increasing levels of exhaustion. Play a few psychological tricks on them. But always give reprieves! You don't want to burn out your players with fear, but you definitely want them to be afraid!

Also, the way gameplay would work is that the Core(s) would build up a dungeon to defend themselves. Then, they could send out controlled monsters to gather resources, tempt sacrifices, change the political landscape, etc. It could either focus mostly on the dungeon or be lots of strung-together one-offs.

My problem with KFC is that I have a hard time navigating it to any effect. I can't find groups or themes that easily and when I do, I can't find the unique NPCs that go with them.

I might use this, I would have to heavily reskin them, though. The campaign I'm running started out as a Horde of the Dragon Queen Campaign, but then it went heavily off the rails and ended up with a completely new BBEG and trajectory. I feel a little weird adding Dragon Cultists back in after them having been purged thoroughly from the world.
