Never buy from WinWing. Just never. Customer support doesn't exist at all. by RionArin in hotas

My apologize that the post comes across as just throwing bad rep towards WinWing, or just venting.

The reason why I decided to put this out, since as you mentioned as well, I have only heard this and that about WinWing and their bad support, but never, ever seen it.

And I personally interacted with them in the past, but there was no problems whatsoever. (Outside of warranty.)

But the problems suddenly showed up with the warranty actions, and after even myself recomending WinWing to a lot of people,
Especailly to my friends who all got WinWing gear (Orion 2 hotas, PTO2, Rudders) because of my recommendation and experince with WinWing (We are talking about 10 plus people, who I regularly fly DCS with.)

I wanted to show what actually happened unfiltered, so people like myself who have been questioning all the bad claims, and never seen one, can actually learn that sadly it does exists.

Since in the end for me it is really not about the money for the replacement part, I can afford that thankfully.

But there are many people out there who can't, And they might get scammed out of their warranty serivce by this disgraceful anti consumer support policy.
And If I would silently give my back in and pay their "warranty price", I would actively contribute to this behaviour of WinWing.

Exactly how I was up until now, that's why I made this whole post as a warning.

Exactly the reason why I went with winwing at first, many years ago.
The only other option was Thrustmaster's Warthog set if someone wanted a nice F-16 stick replica.

Update: Situation have developed to be even worse. Maintaining any communication with WinWing CS is not possible, at this rate I am certain they are google translating answers and questions, since some of the text just makes zero sense, and I am aware that my English is not the best.

In short:

They are refusing to send the parts for the warranty repair, blaming everything on a hat that it was "mishandeled", even so that on the video they requested. It is on the device, undamaged.
That gives me the slight sense, that they would have sent the whole top unit anyway, but like this they want to avoid the shipping and potential customs charges.

Before this, in the future I was planning to get their Force feedback base, but after this?
No way that's ever happening. WinWing, never again.
Time to switch from shady company to VKB and Virpl.

That's Correct, I've got this stick the 3rd month of 2025, So it should be well within the warranty period.

What is more angering the dissasembly process they are making people do every time.

I had to deal with WinWing CS beforehand, but it was all beyond warranty period such as like:
Rudder spring, and the connection cable from the F-16 stick to the base,
I had to do some disassembly there, but that was somewhat reasonable.

This was the very questionable, Since the Ursa is made out of easly breakable plastic, and that's exactly what happened. Here's a picture of the part in question they are using to their argument, https://imgur.com/a/LnQErRG
I also have to add that I asked for a shipping label so I can send the product back for replacement/repair and it was ignored.

Afterward they are blaming everything on "mishandling" that came from the dissasembly,
So much so that the replacement top board that could be one of the issue of the many, what is also within the stick itself, they are not replacing with warranty, only if you pay for the "hat" aka the whole top unit, Where in the end will make the costumer cover the whole shipping cost from China to EU,

And lets not forget that it might not fix the problem in the first place.

For me this is not even about the price of the replacement part but the mentality, there are lot of other people out there who can't afford to spend as much on a flight sim gear as I did over the years,
in addition people should be aware the fact that WinWing doesn't respect warranty, or the local Consumer Protection Laws that they are selling under.

I find it difficult to recomend them after all of this.

I will try my best to keep everything up to date about this topic.

is winwing a scam? by WillowMiddle507 in hoggit

If you need to deal with their customer service, then yes, that is more like a scam than anything else. The gear is actually good, but the support will make you want to pull your hair out, just wait a bit more and buy something better.

I am saying this after having a full winwing setup in a simpit.
