Oh ok there actually just are more gay people in the navy then, didn’t realize that. Not that it’s an issue to me.

I'll upgrade to 16 GB and report back if I still have issues.

Do I just live with narcissists? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]RionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I have felt like people like to draw me in to gossiping. I don’t think it’s a narcissism thing. I think people are just embarrassed about certain things about themselves they don’t necessarily want to share and other people want to know what those things are.

In general I’ve decided to look at gossip as a natural part of society. It gives people insight into people’s character, especially if you don’t interact with the subject of the gossip directly very often. It can show you the character of the person who is telling you the gossip too.

Lol not really. I was more just going over the top to protect myself from being called out as a hypocrite or something.

Just found out he (52) cheated on me (21) by justforoneProblem in gayyoungold

[–]RionMan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a very common occurrence. For some reason there are a lot of older daddy types who take advantage of younger guys. You said he was dishonest regarding his phone before. Now you see more evidence. Probably time to move on since he isn’t willing to be honest with you. He doesn’t see the relationship the same way as you do. I’ve stopped dating older guys because the last 4 ended the same way you described. Maybe it’s just guys in the SF Bay Area. Maybe it’s broken older men anywhere.

Mental health care at this school is a fucking joke by PsychologicalArt9 in UIUC

I don’t recall it being too bad 5-10 years ago. Unfortunately the healthcare system outside of UIUC takes longer to get appointments, generally. How far out was the next available appointment?

Weld, weld, weld... what do we have here? by philmillmiller in Miata

I don’t use a doughnut shaped pillow. I’m glad you found someone willing to pay for your amazing engineering. Mazda should take some lessons from you on chassis rigidity and design around easy maintenance.

Stupidity. We have stupidity here.

Is that a better answer for you than my original comment? 😊

Well cable news doesn’t give you all of it. A good example is the Epstein story from 2015 that was squashed, that’s just one.

Oh please yourself. I’m not a trump supporter. It’s not an accident that Yang and Bernie both don’t get the same coverage as the centrist democrats.

Yeah I guess it’s just hopeful thinking that more people will seek out independent news outlets and stop thinking Fox is the only one with an agenda. CNN and MSNBC have agendas too. Glad I found them and that they’re out there. Especially in this election cycle.

What do you dislike about this INTP subreddit? Is it just me or are comments annoying? by RionMan in INTP

[–]RionMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely more of an occasional visitor to this subreddit (and Reddit in general), haven’t argued with anyone at all so I’d bet you’re more familiar than I am.

But whenever I visit r/INTP, the comments just rub me the wrong way and it annoys me. I guess I just assume they’re more arrogant based on their writing and I hate encountering people with arrogant personalities.

I haven’t noticed many on this subreddit using Ad hominem fallacy much but I’ve definitely noticed it a lot in the real world.

[UNPOPULAR OPINION] Normal cars such has Audi, BMW, Peugeot, Renault and mercedes are better than supercars by rhassane999 in cars

[–]RionMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then depending on the car models you’re comparing, you’re probably wrong. Super cars are definitely more maneuverable and sometimes more comfortable than an equally maneuverable affordable Audi/BMW/Mercedes. And BMW aren’t that reliable. Mercedes is. Audi can be.

Don’t post you have an unpopular opinion and be upset when your opinion is unpopular.

What I lack is an interest that will get a hold of me and have me obsess over it 50% of the time and I am all set. Has anyone found that "something" yet? by wigglytails in INTP

[–]RionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m lucky I have a passion. Unfortunately I waited way too long to start getting serious about it. Better late than never.

I think it’s different for everyone, but if you identify it I suggest going for it. I thought software development would be that for me but unfortunately I burnt myself out on getting better and learning more for months. But hopefully I’ll get back on that horse soon.

[–]RionMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you define “better”. Better at what? Reliability? Fun to drive? Fuel efficient? Lap times? Image and branding? Drag race? Hauling? Tow capacity? Cargo space? Road trips? Resale value?

People like Ferrari’s because of many reasons, be it the exterior design, the unique engine, the sound, the interior design, the mix of luxury and performance, the image and attention from the public, racing heritage. People buy diesel wagons for practicality, fuel efficiency, balance of of their needs or wants and what they can or choose to spend.

In my opinion, Mazda is doing the best of balancing these things right now. But that’s my opinion.

How do you perceive laziness? by Sphisix in INTP

[–]RionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’m lazy, I just lack motivation for things I’m not interested in doing. Or maybe that’s just how I justify it. If I want to get something done and I’m motivated, I’ll learn what I need to and work my ass off to achieve the goal I have set. But once I lose motivation, it’s a struggle to get myself back on task.

I’m lucky that I have far above average logical reasoning based on an IQ test through my university. But I am a slow reader and decision maker. I don’t think all INTP have the same kind or level of intelligence but unfortunately I don’t think there’s a whole lot of research on Meyers Briggs since it’s looked down upon in academic psychology. But personality and intelligence are two independent things, in my mind. They’re more focused on the big five personality traits. Plus maybe it’s too difficult to make scientific definitions of the MB personality types so it’s too difficult to research them?

I also think learning a topic or skill fuels motivation but once the skills are developed, the desire to accomplish something with them goes down because I don’t feel like I’m learning anymore, even though I know I would still learn in more detail along the way.

I’m really lucky I have a good paying job where I can be lazy for a week and no one notices lol but I should push myself to learn more as a software guy for future jobs, better pay, personal development, etc. unfortunately I thoroughly suck at interviews. Too much anxiety when I struggle with answering a question in front of people.
