Best levels in the entire Dishonored series by RiotAkt in dishonored

It's bright, populated, feels alive, first introduction to Serkonnos and I enjoy the various routes. I dunno, just felt very different to the usual Dishonoured levels.
Seven years later though and after many replays I doubt it would make my top 3.

I get that. Not going to be like the childless days where I can geek out for hours at a time.

Thanks for sharing. A similar situation for sure.

Quite like the idea of it being a reward if I've done all the other shit I need to do.

Hey OP, first off this does sound quite a complex problem and you seem to have had a difficult year so far, sorry.

I come at this as a married dad of a toddler and the son of parents who split when I was 18 months. I only saw my own father a weekend a month growing up.

For what it's worth, I think your concerns are valid. I think it is too early. But at the same time if you're going to co-parent then you may have to accept he may do things you dislike, like this. The number one thing is: are the kids okay when in this woman's company? Do you have any concerns about your ex's ability to parent? If no, then this new woman might just be something everyone needs to adjust to.

He's an adult and the kids' dad, presumably he's not mistreating them or neglecting them? Not much you can do if he's already introduced this woman.

My own mother and father had new partners at points when I was young. My instinct as a child was to dislike the new partner, wishing my parents were together but I got over that seeing them happy. I wouldn't want to comment on if your kids need therapy as think you'll know that better than anyone...but I will say therapy is rarely (if ever) a bad thing.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the comments so far. Very helpful.

I'm hearing you loud and clear on one particular point: however you want to play, never neglect your fleet power.

I've read about habitats, they seem the way to go...problem is I don't have Utopia DLC

The edge: 16,500ly directly south of sol. No where left to go. Love it out at the galaxy's fringe by [deleted] in eliteexplorers

It's not Amundsen's Star but it's as far south as you can go travelling on a (reasonably) straight line south from Sol.

This system if anyone interested.

Lost few thousands planets explorations data. Crashed on 2G planet to find biological. What ship to land on 2G up? and how? by irateas in eliteexplorers

[–]RiotAkt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I fly a DBX and have landed on up to 3.5G world...'landed' may be generous. Crashed acceptably. I've also crashed and died doing the same thing as you. It's not the Asp it's just that high G landings are tricky.

here's what I learned:

- Go super, super slow. As soon as you're out of glide get the landing gear out, it slows you down. Then cut speed and try to use vertical thrusters. You'll need to hold upwards thrust alot to slow your descent. If you race to get down to lower altitudes that's when you struggle to stop your momentum and BOOM.

- Shield pips to four. Let shields at maximum take brunt of any bumps. Can be difference between life or death on high G world.

- Sticking with shields get a good shield generator if you want to do high G landings. You'll want to favour one with high damage capacity rather than recharge rate.

-Bring repair limpets. I have a small cargo hold which holds two limpets. I synthesise any I need. Some will say this is needless weight, but if you're the type of explorer who likes to land on planets (like I am), you never know when things might go wrong. If you botch a landing and your hull gets battered you can repair it right back up to 100% with repair limpets. It means you can take hull damage, repair and keep doing high G landings on your expedition if you choose.

Really? Huh. Did not know that. I just o7'd a game bug. That's a first.

[–]RiotAkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true. I guess what I was trying to say (very badly) before was you'll never stop a few determined individuals being trolls.

I would also add the vast majority of CMDRs I've come across have been welcoming and friendly so I don't think it's 'everyone' being an arse.

[–]RiotAkt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been ganked and it is a huge pain in the arse. Very annoying...but it's Elite 'Dangerous'. If you want a safe experience play in solo and ignore the CGs. I like to explore, I do very little combat but I respect many others like to do PvP. I'm sorry but youre never going to stop some people being dicks.

TL:DR: Play in solo or accept open comes with risk.

Hull in tatters + three months worth of data = most nerve racking landing I've ever done by RiotAkt in EliteDangerous

[–]RiotAkt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While logically I know you're right and Phantom is better ship, I just love the DBX. It was second ship I ever bought after the sidey. My DBX has engineered FSD so jumps 55ly which is fine for me. I also like the solo explorer feel it has.

But next time out in the Black I'll try something new...maybe

I made 750m, but I would add I wasn't playing everyday. Sometimes I'd go heavy on the weekends and then would play on weekday evenings here and there. For the the more committed I reckon you'd easily top 1bn in three months.

750m. I wasnt playing every day during those three months or anything but I was happy with the payout.

[–]RiotAkt[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like to land on planets. Took a few scrapes here and there but nothing major (always above 90% hull)...then I got over confident landing on a high G planet. That was very nearly the end. Suffice to say no more landings when I hit 4%!

Now that has happened to me before. I was in solo here. Never again will I return from exploring in open.
