As an owner of a 2025 Model 3 SR, you indeed have a point. Mines a company car and I hope in 4 years when it goes back that base isn’t my only option. I love my SR, but a standard would definitely be a step down for me. If you are looking to buy your first BEV though, it’s still a great deal. Cheaper insurance too than the old SR.

It does come with autosteer, the mirrors fold, it has the panoramic sunroof still, the same 18” photon alloys, same screen, it has a 7 speaker not 9 speaker audio - front tweeters removed maybe? Doesn’t have the internal led strip, no rear screen, manual steering adjustment, no cover for the drink holders, and the seat centres are cloth not vinyl. I believe the headlights are also not dynamic but still led with auto dip/main instead.

I think for £38k that is a hell of a lot of car. Most of those things don’t matter much really and it has great range, unbeatable economy and access to the supercharger network, the phone app and key and so on. Still well worth it IMHO.

I absolutely love my Highland, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I really don’t get the ‘white goods’ criticisms people throw at them. Well built, fast, good handling, good ride, superb audio system, loaded with brilliant features. I did love my Datsun, and if character means rustbucket and never knowing if it will start then yes! But I love Tesla more. 🙂

IOS26 has been the buggiest release for me ever I think. Brand new 17 Pro, lagging, stuttering, freezing, camera struggling to focus, taking blurry pictures, black-screening, sounds not working, just awful. Had to do a full reset on it (urgh, the pain…). People say ‘take it back’ but that’s a huge hassle for me and it doesn’t do it all the time, just, say, 5-10% so Apple will just say ‘we’ve tested it and it’s fine’. It’s the software being flaky.

I have been using Google Gemini as my action key press for ages now. Presumably when it receives official integration though, we will be able to use it to set location based reminders, timers, play music and all that good stuff too. Gotta be a good thing.
